I do frequent facebook for the mushroom ID groups I'm in (and the dank memes) but as far as socializing with anyone lost interest in that after college
Haha this is so my life
My life consists of...
Lurking shroomery Thinking of mushroom cultivation Doing cultivation stuff Hanging out with the wife Working
Im not that social with friends at my spare time. Just on some weekends. Although i'm happy with my life
My wife lets me do my work in peace. And on the weekends we smoke some weed and eat shrooms im so happy she lets me do my stuff. But i think thats because she likes to eat shrooms even more than i do

I'm glad you feel that way buddy. Some people here don't. My life follows those same 5 things you listed.
Bout to go eat some cajun food with my girl, my bestfriend and his girlfriend that found out she's pregnant this week. They're the only two people besides my girlfriend that know I grow, he kinda sorta grows too and even then we only chill on the weekends. My girl doesnt smoke weed but they both do so we always chief it up cuz he flips lb's, which will be ending soon since they're having a kid haha

Hell yea man, chilling with the ones you love is what its all about. Find people with the same interrests as you and you might have friends for life
To bad about that kid though (if it wasn't planned). But i wish them all the happiness and luck Because you gotta start a family sometime i know my life wont always be like this. And i will welcome change when it comes. But for now, im exactly where i want to be
Haha i sell some weed to friends aswell (never strangers) so we always have a good ammount at home :P so besides the kid and "kinda growing" me and my wife are kinda as your best friend and his wife
And regarding your girlfriend and not smoking. I would highly recomend that she tries a joint while trippin. It is so relaxing and great but if she dont want, i'll respect that

Cajun! Yummy. Makes me want to go put some rub on some chicken and blacken it.
I was cleaning out my jars and this just still looks nice. I really want to inoculate something. Do you think this pan cyan culture looks clean and nice enough? I'm so impatient I know. It's bad.

I confess, If I have tomorrow off of work, I'm going to prep a grain/sawdust combo and see if I can't get ovoids to take off indoors. I also have to g2g a beautiful wild tx jar and spawn another to a shoebox. And clean jars, probably finish the harvest on the freak tub, clean that out and make room for the next thing....more tx lol
I'd use it blackcat. worst case you toss it.

Should I just boil my distilled water or do I need to PC it for inoculation?

Do it!!! As in cook the chicken
And that looks alot like what my pan cyans dishes look like, although I'm not sure if it's clean or not. The first transfer plates look clean? But never done pans either so not sure. I'll be making 3rd transfers tomorrow or monday then I'll put it to grain most likely

Well IF you left the lid off and took a pic, you probably allowed spores to land in there and would now risk transferring them as well.

Mine still won't germinate
Still gotta try a force hydration treatment though...
And yes,
Rule of thumb: No matter the tissue type, if it had open air, it's no longer a fit inocculant. For cubes and pans, at least...

This is my second transfer. I have my third transfers growing out now. I really don't want to deal with the pressure cooker just to make a bottle of sterilized water unless I have to. Can I just boil it?
So much sadness. But It was only for like a half second and it's a pretty strong culture. Sigh. Ok I'll dump it outside with the rest.
You guys are ruining all my fun. Fine I'll just go get a new sample of those stupid reishi down the street from me and put them on agar instead. I'm so insanely bored today for some reason.

Distilled water will be sterile after boiling it on a rolling boil for 10 minutes. If you have a sterile syringe and needle (or a pristine clean one and boil it with the water for those 10 mins and squirt water in and out (out i t sink)), you could use it. No need for a PC for water, unless you want it in a jar.
If you try to make LI from that Pan plate, it'll probably fail horribly though. It's just that life is so tenacious, and the air has more life than the plate..
I know the feeling, but try to do something usefull, like collecting wood chips, or manure, or making up some PF jars or PF plates to stick in the fridge for when you need em..

I know your not ruining my fun. I'm just teasing. I think I've decided on cloning the wild reishi down the street before someone steals them all. I'll go get groceries and grab a new chunk of it on the way home. I have 8 jars of MYPA agar so why not. If it will keep me from doing stupid shit out of boredom.
Thanks for talking me out of using the plate and saving me from my impulsive nature.

TheBlackCat said: I confess I just figured out I was doing something silly. I'm causing stalls in my cultures because I was switching agar formulas. My cultures are all clinging to the tiny cubes I put them on for dear life like WTF is this MYP shit you just dropped us in. Fortunately I know once most of the nutes are eaten up in the cubes they will start to grow out more. Same thing happened when I switched them from PDA to the tapioca molasses agar. I'm sticking with MYPA for these guys from now on and keeping to one culture media for each grow. Newbie mistakes.
thats not silly you are supposed to do that. perhaps you just need better recipes.

Hey Munch, I know you're supposed to feed them another agar every now and then, but how many transfers do you reckon would be a good maximum to keep sticking with 1 recipe?
