that's odd, I've tried and failed to burn 70
Oh for fucks sake. Now I feel even stupider. I tried spraying a glove and setting it on fire again not on my hand of course and couldn't get it to work. Look what I just found in the trash. I filled it with an old bottle of 91 percent I had like a fucking moron. I think I'm going to end up killing myself one of these days. I think I have a subconscious death wish.

Empty threats are pointless and very detrimental to ones character. We all have flaws, In the way one handles them is a direct reflection on the persons maturity level. I confess if this shoe fits i will dam sure wear it.

Good to know.
I confess I am thinking about making more agar tonight because I found these reishi growing in front of the pizza joint near me. I'm wondering if these lovelies would like some MYPA. Also I'm working on figuring out what kind of substrate and all that jazz to see if I can even grow them.

Clone tissue> agar> agar> agar> grains> sterilized hardwood sawdust, and or woodchips. Reishi do great on MYPA. The yeast in't necassry for this project though. One more thing you need to watch out for with Reishi. The grain spawn becomes hard as a rock, and virtually impossible to break apart if you wait just 2 days to move the spawn unto the next step, so once they become fully colonized, be ready to move them immediately.

Oh so I can buy the woodchips from my hardware and garden store and put them in spawn bags and sterilize them. Neat. Someone told me this is ganoderma sessile and that it's pretty aggressive.

If you can find hardwood fuel pellets they work fine also just like sawdust once you add water

I'm sure I can find those. There is also a lumber yard near me. Maybe they have lots of sawdust they don't want.
Should I clone that sexy looking round one that looks like a pecan pie. That ones my favorite. I want to cut out a spot that doesn't have bugs. I was thinking cutting out the center in the resinous area would be a good spot to avoid all the pesky insects.
Thanks Germs. It's been so perfect here for fungi lately. Been finding all sorts of fun species. But the local pizza joint having sweet reishi was a real surprise.

Exactly. Hit up your local lumber yards. They'll usually bag up their sawdust, and give it to you if you provide the bags. Watch out though. You have to be aware of what types of wood they ran that day. One time I went to my local lumber yard, dropped off a bag, and they brought it back to me full of cedar. I appreciated their sentiment though, but there was nothing I could do, mycologically, with cedar alone. A mix of soft woods would have been viable to run some Psilocybe wood lovers through though.

Do you happen to know how well Ps. Cyan does on mixed wood with lots of soft wood in it? And would you sterilize or pasteurize?

Neither (sterilize, or pasteurize). With ps cyan, azur, Allenii, cyanofriscosa, ect, the same parameters for growth can be followed for each type.

I confess the contams have been bad lately. Trying to start ovoids to no avail. All my oat jars turned green. I fucked up what I thought was a good aa+ culture and gotta start back from spore. Really sucks. I think I gotta move my SAB setup cause even my plates are going bad.

Really. Hardwood pellets are easy.
I confess I got hungry thinking about the pizza place with the reishi in front of it and went for a walk. I also confess that the reishi mushroom ate my scalpel blade and I didn't want to cut my finger digging it out so I didn't get to bring a lot home. It's like trying to cut a soft cork. How long can I store these cuttings for. Do these cuttings look healthy? Should I put them in the fridge? It's really hot and the jar is steamy and I'm afraid they will get all bacterial. I'm a bit too exhausted to make the agar like I planned because I decided I needed to go across the street and buy 8 new half pint jars and a case of quart widemouths and carry them home. Sorry for all the questions. I have never seen a reishi and I want to grow my own because I don't want to bring outside bugs in by accident by harvesting wild. I'm really excited about it's medicinal properties and that I found some nnice ones to clone.

this is way off topic and I hate to derail a thread but a kid I went to highschool and 'knew' since preschool just got arrested along with another kid in the area for shooting a third kid that I went to school with. everyone is devastated, it's a smallish town and I think them being on the run had everyone more on edge but it's some pretty fucked up shit in my small hometown
