good for you. i personally think that is a stupid reason for a modern human to kill something. but hey, thats none of my business.
but killing/hurting 'just for fun' is sick. and wrong.

I don't hunt anymore because I am too busy. But if you hunt for food (like I did) and not for sport, it's no different than buying meat at the market.

i love hunting. especially the moment when you have a buck in range. for me, all my years of practice and training just kick in and its like my body takes over and I just observe myself pulling the gun up and squeezing the trigger. that deep exhale before you fire is such an incredible feeling. ive never missed and never had to shoot more than once, thankfully. my last deer was on thanksgiving day several years ago and I got it thru the neck/spine at around 100 yards thru thick briars. my best shot ever. sadly, about 50 lbs of meat from that deer was ruined while I was moving when my brothers freezer bit the dust. he woke up to a giant pool of blood in his basement.

it's actually better for you and the environment. the meat industry is under regulated and frankly, gross. not to mention the amount of methane pork and beef let out compared to deer

Blah blah blah. Shut the fuck up about the meat industry when you don't know a fucking thing about it. Sure, if you eat meat from mcdonalds or walmart, you're getting old nasty dairy cow beef. Otherwise, it is highly regulated. And farmers care about their animals. I know this first hand. The stories your fucking millennials see on YouTube are the rarity. Not the norm.

So, just to be clear, two of the biggest consumers of meat are not regulated very tightly. Does that mean the mom and pop grocery store down the street is MORE regulated?

Yep, move to Wisconsin. There's no one beating animals at commercial farms here. If anything they're treating the animals better than the "parents" of inner city kids treat their own

have you ever seen any video of inside of pig factories? puss pockets being cut open and left to go through. there are simply not enough FDA workers to sefety test all that meat, this isn't propaganda it's fact, I'm sorry these facts offended you. this is hardly the place to debate anything even slightly political Family owned farms are a different story than mass produced pork

Whoa whoa whoa...
Just a bit off topic boys n girls Any myco confessions today?
(For the record ... cruelty to animals sucks big time and trophy hunting is lame, but hunting to put meat on the table is far more humane that what goes down with factory farming of most of the meat we eat)

Ever waited patiently for a small uniform blob of white on your agar plate to show rhizomorphs, then realise it was bacteria two weeks later? That was a let down and a half. At least I learned from it.
