I just finished pouring 20 fresh plates all nice and carefully, then proceeded to bump my SAB and knock the whole stack over.

It sounds really fun to me. Black Cat has a myco-tomb raider thing going on, I would love to scavenge scientific equipment from abandoned medical, who knows what the fuck zombie apocalypse ,fighting mutants for equipment and shit. Uncovering ancient and horrible experiments of the past and finding forgotten long forbidden technologies and turning it into grow equipment You all are just jealous, and so am I.

So I did some agar work the other night. Cleaned the shit out of my sab and the table, misted and all that good shit. Wiped my arms down with alcohol, then gloved and wiped those down. I cleaned my gloves with alcohol ever transfer or 2. Flamed the scalpel as high as I could between each transfer. Now they all have satellites of mold. I guess my "tent" room in the basement isn't work. Some times I get great transfers, other times this happens. I need to get some wood and build this fucking flow hood, as well as actually finishing that off into a real room that can be sealed fairly well, and scrubbed with the flow hood.

a flowhood won't help you. you're shaky. I would blame sterile technique. I have had mold 3 feet away from my SAB for years without it giving me problems. are there any small air currents you can't detect?

I'll just see if I can find a clean enough one to take home. I have only visited half of the 70 something buildings in the complex. There are a lot of buildings built in the 90's I haven't checked out. This place has been open since the late 1800's and I totally respect it's history and find it extremely fascinating. Maybe someday if I can make a video that doesn't identify me or the location I will. Hah. Totally hijacked the thread. :gethigh:

Those are some really good pictures! I dig.

I confess after getting home from a long day at work I am having a hard time getting motivated to get in the SAB. Got like 7 cultures that all need transferring and a couple LC's that haven't been shaken and are getting very thick. I also have like 7 quart jars from Friday that need to be inoculated... gotta get out of the habit of just letting them lil bitches sit

Yeah man. Any hvac shop will have a shit load of them. Every job I go to, we throw the whole unit out before we start install. So at least check the shops dumpster. Worst case you might have to remove the blower from the unit. A lot better than asbestos and shit. That stuffs no joke. As soon as you disturb it, it is harmful. ANY Exposure will matter

Mmmmmmm. Asbestos. So you mean I shouldn't lick the walls of this tunnel then? Or the shingles on this roof. Actually the funny thing is that would be safer than actually breathing it in. The power plant is the worst asbestos magnet. They used to use that shit to insulate everything. I found these asbestos deposits in the tunnel area under the power plant.I'm not sure why you automatically assume I don't know anything about asbestos. I'm just not going to have a huge debate over it.

My Dad... an otherwise healthy and strong man got taken out by asbestos - doesn't take much and it won't kill you for 15-20 years... don't play with fire!

Nature's ready to eat half the buildings there, though the pipes still hold 105 PSI O.o

OMG THAT BOOK :tard: (hey, another non-offensive yet very suited instance for the tard-graemlin!)

Reminds me of the book the father of my former roommate gave him after finding it in the attick. It said "Dumbo, the nigger boy". It had about 10 very wrong racial stereotypes on the first page. It was a book written by a childrens' books author, and was used to teach children in schools about different cultures... Hooray for history!

That drum looks creepy.. I'd expect to find dissolved human in the red one...

Don't worry. I'm not messing with it. I have a special storage are for my urban exploration bag. Also I always make sure to remove my clothes in the bulkhead and get them straight to the wash and then shower immediately.

Yeah that particular building was closed down in the 80's and had lots of old materials. Lots of 8mm videos and old slides and some of the largest and oldest VHS tapes I've ever seen of old outdated medical material.

As for the mentally challenged smiley that was supposed to be removed. I opened a ticket and Ythan responded with this.

"Hey, you have a good point. We've been online since 1997 and over time we've accumulated some smileys which no longer reflect current social norms. A few years ago we undertook a project to remove imagery which might make members feel excluded, but I guess we overlooked this one. I'll see that it gets taken care of. Thanks for bringing this to our attention."

I confess I watched all 45 minutes of Milo's spiked NPR interview on thought policing. Got me thinking.

Then they banned Tard-Gremlin, and I said nothing for I am not a Gremlin.
Then they came for me(me) and there was no sense of humor left"

If hairs are getting split...Lets call it "Intellectual disability"  or Developmentally disabled.

Censoring things is for children. All the choices are always there in life...Take it up directly with people who have the issues like an adult.
