I can' t believe it took almost 15 minutes to explain LI... even TCs have trouble with liquids. this guy doesn't know what he's talking about, he said he's sterilizing things with that ISO... that's impossible. iso only sanitizes which is far from ideal. he should be using 70% because it's better at sanitizing (which isn't helping him) he's doing lots of things that make me not trust him. he's also working with G&M mushrooms. those are way less finicky

Agrees with the alcohol. Didn't notice that. I actually dilute the alcohol to 50 percent and spray my area around where I'm working so it takes longer to evaporate. Then I spray the air and close my tiny room and leave it for a few hours with my filter still inside. Then I wipe it down with my 70 percent alcohol wipes. Excessive yes but worth it. He actually said the word sterilize when talking about alcohol. I didn't hear that. Cringes.

aside from how it should & shouldn't look and of course how to use the search feature which you really need to learn to do, you are reading an outdated book. there's some good tips but it's not really aimed towards cubensis cultivators

I take back some of what I said about the guy, he isn't growing actives so he has leeway when it comes to liquids

How does him not growing actives give him leeway when it comes to liquids?

I like this. I'll go with it. But just a thought. Isn't this video on you tube?
Despite how outdated that book is it still contains a lot of relevant information.

I have never considered any of my pathetic history a success but I have always had less success with this method than just straight agar to grain, sure it takes more time but it helps teach patience, and better results are always better than shitty fast results IMO

If you haven't successfully transferred agar to grains and grown it out I would stay away from liquids. As far as doing something with the pans plate, I would transfer a minimum of 3 times before using as an inoculate, especially a liquid one. Spore germ plates used as LI/LC is guaranteed failure

With LC? Yes it is. LC is an all, or nothing skill set. Edible, medicinal, or active specie of mushroom, all the same principals apply when it comes to LC.

Using that much LI in my grain jars immediately causes a high amount of bacterial sludge to start growing on the bottoms of my jars.

OMG! Totally having a panic attack. There is a small tiny dot moving around on one of my petri dishes. Like a mite or something. WTF is it? I must burn it with fire!

unless it's an inoculate/technique issue... how the fuck do you get bugs in a sealed plate?

How the fuck did it get in there? Could it be a fungal gnat nymph. I want to cry. What if they are in all my plates now. I am full of sadness. Could i have scraped some kind of dormant egg off a print. Maybe the pan cyan print was wild?
