Is there a name for the actual shape the mycelium makes in the dish? Kind of reminds me of a fuzzy snowflake when it first grows.

So we want rhizoid mycellium or filamentous (sp)

I wonder if any birds eat mushrooms

Yes. There are many kinds of tits. http://voice.gardenbird.co.uk/guide-to-tit-family/

We have a bird called a tufted titmouse here. They are so cute.

As for birds eating mushrooms I just did a little research and no. Maybe if it was cooked into a meal a scavenger like a gull might eat it.

I'm hungry and I need to go for a walk. Time to hit the grocery store.

Yeah, what's with the different shapes, I thought as well the curled was hitching contams. I've also had some filamentous curled with a oily/wet look, but that one was def contammed.

I confess that I just bought a case of wide mouth half pint jars for no pour agar because my wife won't let me buy petri dishes. Less myco shit being purchased online the better I guess lol.

Only words I saw was burger, beer and joint. Had to read it a few times. All three sound tasty together. I'm more of a mushrooms in soups and stews kind of person or in rice dishes chopped finely.
