Yea, I'd be less worried if the print was dirty, and more worried about if the spores are still any good. They maybe dehydrated and in need of a spore dunk. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/15383615#15383615

unless its shoulder/man boob pain
What about shoulder lady boob pain. Like once a month my boobs get all sore like someone punched me in them. It's awful. Why can't guys have man boob pain once a month. Damn you bastards!

I'll drop them on agar first and if nothing else hydrate them.

Make sure to hydrate them regardless, if they are dehydrated the spores will NOT take off on the agar and it will stall or contaminate. 3-4 years is a long time for a spore print, just rehydrate it for like 12 hours or something THEN move to agar if you wish.

I recently inoculated some agar with spores that were from 2014 (spore print) and I did NOT rehydrate them, the resulting germination rate was iffy and mediocre. However that wasn't cubensis.

Or make your agar to err on the wet side of acceptable agar formulation instead of making it firm.

If you behave I may include a cleavage shot with my next grow. Mushies and cleavage in the same shot. Can't go wrong with that.

I was thinking the same thing. I have a few jars of agar that have a drop or two of extra water hanging out in them that got made on the moister side because I ran out and kind of just guessed so I could quicklyfill all the jars.

If it can be helped, for spore germination, soft agar is the way to go. If the spores won't germinate after soft agar applications, use a syringe, sterilized water, and a rubber band to force hydrate them spores. If the spores still don't mate after all that processing, keep trying while sourcing more Pan spores. They are everywhere.

I just got me like 6 sterile syringes and some little indicator things that are supposed to melt in my PC if the temperature gets high enough to ensure it's sterile. I figured I couldn't go wrong for 13 bucks including priority shipping. 50 cents for the indicators.

There are three different species of Panaeolus/Copelandia. 1. Cyanescens. 2. Cambodginiensis. 3. Tropicalis. The rest of the names associated with Panaeolus are varieties.

Just pan cyans.
Got lucky tonight. Went into my lot store and they finally got the 64 quart sterilites for the first time in weeks. I wish I had a car. Would have bought all 8 but settled for carrying 4 home.
I keep wondering if an agar comprised of molasses and potato starch would work. Ideas?

I'm reading failed pan grows. It's actually quite enlightening. I'm thankful for all the people that fuck up and share their stories.
Also I am going to try to never get to a stage again where I have nothing growing. I mean I have stuff on agar. I guess I can't beat myself up too much. I only have two grows under my belt. One extreme failure then one really successful grow. But it's frustrating that I got set back over a week. I feel like I've collected all these bins and prints and have all kinds of substrates but nothing even on grain yet. I want to be able to mix my first substrates and pasteurize on my own instead of the sterilized medium that I used before. I have all this grain I want to soaked and sterilize damn it. You have to have so much damn patience. I'm surprised I'm taking on a completely different strain of cubes and a completely different species that's even harder and finickier. What have I gotten myself into.
