I wonder if we could add mint oil to our misting bottle. I'm not sure what it would do to the mycelium.

I have some carolina reepers and I made homemade pepper spray by steeping them to help deter gnats on my indoor plants. Worked pretty damn well actually. You could probably do it to your mushies, just make sure the people you give them to like spicy food

My malabar, and mexicub seem off and some of the ksss even look moldy idk?? Last year withing 3 or 4 transfers id have rhizo but they are all staying tomentose after about 6 and its only 10grams malt to 1000ml im going to make a batch with only 2 grams to try and get that rhizo

Carolina reepers are hotter than ghost peppers. They are currently the hottest pepper in the world at ~2.0 million scoville. They are a whole nother level of hot. It literally feels like your mouth is on fire. Literally.

I confess I stomach shrooms better than peppers
Used to eats loads of real spicy foods, loved it hot! Not like the carolina reapers though, but I got stomach n gastric ulcers, and still get it from time to time, so that's a no go nowadays...

Good God you guys... (and gals)
There has to be room for this in mush cult or off topic discussion or... the Pub?
I don't mind a bit off digression now and then but...
Maybe I need to bust out a contest theme early

So I did a little research and found a list of products. The most interesting product is actually a selective bacteria. I hope this helps. I'm actually glad I looked in case I need this stuff someday too. I may buy some just as an additive to prevent this.

I have an idea. What if we made a rule that you can say anything you want off topic anytime you want as long as you post something mycology related in teh same post.

I just took 4 transfers off of the side of the glass on the over grown aggressive Pan cambo agar jar. They were above the agar itself so contamination would have to come from during transfer, as the bacteria wouldn't be growing up the glass if there was any, but I don't think there was. I saw this plat before it got set to the side, I would of happily used it.
Cool part was how I was able to peel little pieces off the glass and lay them on agar, like a sheet.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girdling
I confess to Girdling a few small trees each year. Doing so gives me a perpetual supply of wood(fresh and standing dead) for my Wood lover projects. In my opinion Smoking wood chips/pellets,ect are good for initial Grain to wood jump off to move outdoors. After that you want them eating and adapting to your local wood varieties, especially if planning to spread the Species through out your area. Anyone can do it, don't even need a saw. A knife works. I constantly keep an eye out for overgrown lots, green belts, woodlands, ect that offer easy and discreet access and obvious signs of no maintenance. Even branches work. Clumps of trees are prefered so i can have standing dead and fresh at one stop.
**Don't be a savage and girdle willy nilly and take out a bunch of trees and be destructive.I Chose small trees that arn't going to draw any attention when they go missing or are dead standing. use your head.***
