I'm using micropore tape, I'm not sure what's going on with my mono tubs, I think I'm just blaming everything but the spawn :frown:

Not necessarily.  I'm assuming this is a multispore inoculation?  Thats a telltale sign of diverse growing traits.

How about the cracks running through the surface of the myc?  Hardly a thing to ignore....

I think the owner of the plate has too much airflow due to whatever filter they are using.  This may be confirmed by the overall dull appearance of the culture

You could be right, it just looks identical to bacterial plates I had.

So I made some big ass cakes with some QT PP5 containers a week back. PC'd for 3 hrs, and hit them with some LC the next day. After a week little has grown and smells like some bad cheese, lol. Some how I fuckered that up. Must need longer in the PC or some shit. Tossing that shit straight da fuq out!

PP5 is less of an insulator than glass, 3 hours for cakes should be way more than enough. It's gotta be something else..

They are rather big and the LC does just fine on pints. It is that big, dense ass cube. The exact same LC knocked up close to 40 pint jars.

Nothing different, stored in the same place and same number of layers of MP take for GE. I have tried these before and had bad luck but I knew it was my culture for sure then. I will try these containers again and just drop a agar wedge to them.

Yass!  :deathrush: It's why I'm so broke. But on a serious not I'm just starting out so yes it was expensive for me to buy everything.

I hurt my shoulder so haven't been able to get on to read much. I woke up with a sublaxation again. Just been trying to sleep it off. You guys sure posted a lot since I've been gone.

On a good note I just opened my pressure cooker finally. Minus a bit of condensation my plates actually look great and didn't explode! Yay for useable plates. I'll have to work on them tomorrow.

I feel like I have a lot to do still. I have to drop on the spores and then cross my fingers. Then I have to get some clean plates to knock up my grains with. Hell I haven't even made my grain jars. Should start my grain soak right after I inoculate my plates hopefully tomorrow if this fucking shoulder stops being shitty.  I'm so pissed about the fact that I can just wake up like that with a bum shoulder when I'm in the middle of something. Going to chomp down some more ativan to try and relax my muscles and rest. Stupid celebrex isn't doing shit.

Yeah, but haven't checked the LC afterwards on agar?

Some of those pints came from the same syringe pull as the QT PP5's. Not like a few days apart, and the pints are growing just fine. If there had been a time gap I would accept that I could have contaminated the LC, but not when it was one syringe right after another. I know there is SOME bacteria in the LC but it has never done this as well as cakes made at the same time are fine. That draws me to believe that I didn't PC the containers long enough, also I use grains in them, not BRF, so they do take a good PC cycle to be sterilized properly.

I sometimes have plates that only have a little bit of agar surface due to running out, if I need to test LC, I use those, so the water slides off. Still only use 1 drop. I shake the syringe real hard before dropping it, so I'm sure I got enough in there to guarantee growth of whatever it is that's in there.

3 weeks. Sigh. Going tho have to just make a syringe and take a risk. I'll use the plates for the next batch. I'm pretty sure the spores are fine.

Just goto agar its possible the jars may not germ or it can take up to 4 weeks for them to finish with a syringe go with agar say it takes 5 days to germ, transfer on day 8, day 12 and 15, by day 21 you should have atleast 14 clean plates to noc jars up with

I'll just do some jars now and use the agar for the other tubs I want to do. Anyone got any good spore syringe techs. I mean really I can make all the jars I want. The temperature and humidity levels in my area are great right now. Need to take advantage of it before it cools down.

Pressure cook 100ml water for 20 minutes drop the spores in the water and suck up with the syringe then you have 10ml syringes
