I have a feeling my cat is going to ruin a lot of things. But I love her anyways. I suppose if they are are sterilized a little hair never hurt anything.
I love the kitties myself, but I gotta tell you, cat dander (on hair, nails, toungue....basically the entire purring thing) is LOADED with bacteria and fungus, in particular. I wouldn't let my cat walk anywhere near where I was trying to work, and I fo sho would try to seal stuff up when I vacuum then let things settle down before unsealing. Swab your meowser sometime and start a plate just to see...it can get pretty gross. (But I love them anyway too! <3)

I confess this jar scares me This was a 1/2qt of WBS that was left after having done G2G transfers with what appeared to be clean smelling, healthy spawn. I tried a Grain Soak for 20min just to see what would happen and then cased the top with coir/verm

This was taken yesterday. There are a ton more pins this morning

Oh, I know they're gross haha I still love them. I'm trying to convince my gf to get another one, but she wants a big dog now. Which I'm also okay with. We've been looking for Great Dane puppies recently.
Either way, now I can actually close the door in that room so I can have more still air conditions. I'm actually going to give that room a major cleaning later today. Don't help much that I smoke In the same room I do sab work and grow in lol

I guess since I'm here bitchin and not my own thread.
I got no plates atm. Should I fridge these and wait 3 days. Or fukit start over from scratch?
I'd like to save then contams have cost me 50+ clone cultures this year.. really don't wanna lose these.
Yea even in that other plate there was some of those concentric rings which is telltale mold IMO and i missed seeing it at first

Kind of but that's not a cubensis culture so the rule doesn't work as well. Cubes i haven't seen do that ever so if you see it chances are it's not cubensis

I made the transfers before the mold got as far as it is in the picture but the receiving plates all got mold right away.

My APE did that. I was told APE has a strange tendency to do that. Well I kept taking transfers and I never got any color, but it finally got really thin and fuzzy, like had to be mold. So I tossed them. Good thing I have another swab to try.

This aa+ culture has concentric rings...I thought is was the best looking of the lot...it is only the first transfer from spore though. Not the best pic.

If it is only 1 transfer from spore, then it is probably the mycelium fighting and trying to get ahead of some bacteria. I have seen that happen and it went away after I got culture some what cleaned up.

Yeah, I smoke in the same room, too. With a fan in the window. I turn it off and keep doors closed for about an hour before doing anything though.
Great Dane, huh? I couldn't do a dane. They have really short life-spans and they need a ton of room...my place is just too small and I'd rather my heart breaks in 12 or 13 years instead of 5 or 6....7 or 8 if I hit the lottery. I always wanted an Irish wolfhound, until I met a few and watched them die waaaaay young (relatively speaking). Danes are awesome, I'm just not equipped to deal with a loss that quick. I'm all about adopting mixed breeds. I work with a ton of breeders, and the more I see, the more I root for the mutt. Diverse genes are where it's at, plus when you rescue a dog, they KNOW it, and they spend their life thanking you for it <3
Oops- sorry- off-topic of thread. But I love me some animals.

So I saved some grain water in 2 QT jars a few days back and fridge was full. I intended to use right away but it has sat on the counter and is breeding bacteria and yeast. I should probably toss it rather than boil the shit out of it before using for LC and pc'n it, even though it should kill everything, but is probably better not to chance.
Would you use it or toss it guys??

I'd probably still use it. I froze some in a quart jar that I didn't have room for in ice cube trays. Figure if I nuke it til it melts some and boil it up before putting it into trays to freeze it should be fine.

SO I made some agar for pasty plates 2 days ago late as fuck at night. Couldn't fit them all in the PC, so 10 have sat on the counter for 2 days waiting to PC. I'm still going use them as I PC my plates for 40 min.

I confess that I'm convinced from my experience that concentric rings in a growth pattern could be caused by cyclic fluctuations in environmental parameters such as temperature or light.
For example if you have a light cycle (12 on 12 off) that your cultures are exposed to, or a temperature cycle (an unheated room exposed to daily fluctuations such as sun exposure) then this could cause periods of differential grow speed... and those concentric rings.
Faster growing cultures - such as some molds may be more likely to demonstrate this responsiveness.
Just my somewhat informed opinion
