yes. flame sterilizing is all I ever use. although every once in awhile it may be a good idea to wrap it in foil and pc it in a jar

You guys lose blades on a scalpel handle o.O

Never had that happen to me before.. I used to get in fights with my clamp-style blade handles though..

After repeated heating and cooling, the blade starts to warp a little bit and it makes it easier for it to fall off.
I've had blades fall off in agar plates, once in a quart jar, and an LC. That's what I get for using the blade till
it's damn near deteriorated.

Ah, ok, I just take it out every 3-4 times I use it to bend it straight again.. I try to get as much use out of them as possible, but they don't last for ages, that's for sure..

I hear ya. It's been a while for me as well. In fact, if you only count full on trips (had a trip not work out due to body chemistry and a microdose), it's been close to a whole year. I've got mushies, just not the right time yet. Been feeling it coming though...

I confess, I can't wait to be able to have a good mush trip again. My girl has only done them once, and that time I got ridiculously sick and threw up for 5 hours at a party. Was a shitty trip. I can't wait to be able to trip at my own leisure in my own home, with my lady and no one else.

on the note of dulling blades..

this happens when you reuse a blade one to many times.

i butchered this culture and i couldnt figure out why until i examined the shitty blade:thumbdown:

the refills are cheap enough but i can make 1 blade last roughly 2 weeks. depends on work load.

also use different blades for different things. you recycle that chipped blade for scrapping spores/snagging grains.
