I have some pretty bad tinnitus. It sucks so bad. I don't even know why I developed it, because I never am around loud sounds. I never go to clubs or concerts, never worked around machinery and I still got it. Does anyone know why that would happen?

Never listen to music more than one or two bars, I hate when I can't hear my environment anymore.
I have been diagnosed with ADHD, depression and anxiety disorder but it seems unlikely they'd cause tinnitus.
On-topic: When I did my first PF tek, just two and half months ago, I also made some pint cakes. They're about 80% colonised and are starting to turn a bit yellow from bacteria. Never a good idea to make pint cakes!

I have tinnitus pretty bad also. The ringing is damn near constant. I don't know what caused mine either but I have been to my fair share of loud shows and I did have a concussion once. I know hitting your head hard enough can cause it too
Shit sucks though. I frequent a deprivation tank facility in my town and it is really hard to let go while in there because the tinnitus gets so loud in the absence of any other sounds. Sucks...

Agreed I've got tinnitus and lost 80% of my hearing in my left and 100% deaf in my right. It's a problem that never gets better i wish you both luck. Never get on the gabapentin bangwang. Yes it helps with the pain but causes you to lose balance or seizer in my case. It's cycle. Don't become deaf just sit in your quiet place wacthing the mushroom porn growing

Awesome thread. I was reading this the other night and thought of a bunch of stuff to add. Pretty sure it's been mentioned, but noticing things EVERYWHERE that look like mycelium. And I mean EVERYWHERE.
A dusting of snow on the ground, especially soil, gets me every time.
A recent spot I had never noticed was on the inside of an icy car window.
Recently switched to rye berries from WBSm and the smell of rye in the PC cycle, it smells just like boiled peanuts and makes my mouth water. WBS smells awful.

Well yeah, I get that. Just don't really dig the smell. Especially when stacked up against the delicious smell of rye berries/boiled peanuts.
Another admission:
In the past few weeks I've left some WBS to soak overnight and then ended up on a bender, or something else happened and I didn't get to it in time, so it was wasted and I've had to throw it out. Not a big deal given how dirt cheap the stuff is right now.
Anyways, when I throw it out, I put it outside off the side of my house where I put all my mycological refuse. I've noticed little squirrel paw prints in the snow where they come to feast upon it. I'm now noticing that a.) there are more squirrels around my place, and b.) they are looking pretty fucking fat.
I really enjoy watching squirrels so I am totally cool with all of this.

There is definitely some colonized stuff out there. I've had a couple of jars of WBS trich out on me. And all of the spent PF cakes I started with (and there were upwards of thirty) to get clones are out there. I never thought much of it except to keep my friend's dog out of there, and the random pipe dream that maybe come summer time a cap or two might pop up out there.
Now that I realize that the squirrels are interested in that spot (I realize this now because of the fresh snow and their little squirrel prints) I will be monitoring them much more closely.
Squirrels seem pretty spun to me already though.

Don't let the squirrels get high. I have a spot like that for compost. I put out fully colonised jars out there that had minor trich spots. I fould it empty the next morning surrounded by five dead squirrels geting eaten by a hyper squirrel.
On its own note. Every one here should wacth MORI NO YOUSEI: KINOKO NO MUSUME five mins in your screaming at you phone i want to eat so bad. All your favourite freinds think you've lost your mind. Not my fault all the character's are mushrooms

My landlord called and told me he's putting the duplex I live in up for sale, and that I should be expecting multiple visits from appraisers and for inspections to be done. I need to somehow come up with reason as to why they won't be able to go in a certain room upstairs filled with tons of jars and plastic containers.....

Those sound like some east coast squirrels. Squirrels out here on the West Coast don't get down like that.
And I'll be damned if I'm gonna squirrel-proof my refuse spot. If they want to root around in that shit, that's up to them. As long as the dogs don't get up in there, ce la vie is my motto.
Besides, this country needs more spun squirrels, not less.
