Well, I just made them, they were coming out of the sterilizer..
Do they colonize well in the fridge? I just have em with my plates for colonization, they'll go in the fridge when fully grown.
Edit: or were you just talking about inoculation from instead of to slants?

Nice! You must have a sharp axe and be good with it! Chopping wood is good for the soul.

Have you seen that eatyu uses Scott's wood mulch? It's like 5 bucks a bag. Seems easy as shit to me, but I know nothing really. Just what I've read. I plan on trying it tho.

Fuel pellets are great. Cottonseed hulls are a great supplement as well as wheat bran for them if you choose that route.
I would not use lipas method as volume is a shit way to indicate everything. Just use Ferathers water content guide and weigh out everything. It's simple easy and fast. I aim for 55-60% water content depending on species.
Also RR has a segment on sawdust and wood chips thatd I'd recommend checking out. I would recommend using both Sd/WC; as stand alone doesn't result as good yields (comparing techniques of farmers and amateurs.)

Yeah the water content on Lipas Tek didn't work for me either. Depends on the pellets. I just weigh out a small amount keep adding water until its where I want then do the math for a bags worth.

Easy peasy. How much weight of final product do you want? X lbs(I use KG as ml=g for water) Water content of 55%, what's 55% of X? Supplemented @ 15% wheat bran what's 15% of X?
what's left is how much fuel pellets you needs.

YES I have, and I am planning on using that very method, using grocery bags. That thread seemed like the perfect cheap way for me to learn how to grow oysters out.

Agreed I've got kings and blues coming nicely on agar right now and a LC of Sheemji beech from hamlof I'm gonna all put to grain the same time. Then use that tek to fruit. Should be interesting!

Hello, I've been trying and trying on the pf-tek and only found success the first time. These cakes were birthed a week ago and there aren't any pins and the cakes are getting fuzzy. What are your thoughts?

waylitjim always used those scotts wood chips for woodlovers like p. azures ect. they do well! i just tried it with oysters for shits and giggles because i had a bag leftover from the yard. and the information on the dyes in it are all plant based. same for newspaper. the ink is plant based.
