I confess that I managed to read all 162 pages of the Official Panaeolus thread the last 3 nights while at work.

Made my first transfers yesterday of pan cambo. Started from a syringe to a Pastey plate. Pretty pumped!

Just want to say thanks to everyone on here for sharing their knowledge for anyone to see. I didn't know shit about mushrooms till last summer and now I'm able to grow my own. Very satisfying

confession: I am starting tto love mycology too much, but am concerned that I dont need that many magics, I might end up doing stupid shit like giving them away for free to strangers to strangers just to rid myself of them  so now starting to try living out my drive with edibles - sadly I only like portabellos so it might be a bit hard at first, but thats how we know it right, thats what made the early learning so fun and rewardable - and also I guess many things wil be quite similiar too, for example being able to fruit in a tub, whihc for example with oysters seems not to be common

Have you tasted oyster, maitake, lion's mane, shiitake...? Also, fruiting oysters in a tub is uncommon because it produces ugly, sub par fruit and is inefficient.  Most of the techniques used in actives are worthless with edibles. Switching over will require a lot of reading, but at least you already have the knowledge, you just need to learn difference in how actives are cultivated.

What the heck are you even talking about?  Oysters in monotubs is highly efficient, and the fruits are NOT "sub-par".  They are delicious.  The only area the fruits lack in is in the looks department, because oysters grow vertically in the wild.  Before speaking over the subjects you know little to nothing about, you should gain your own experience rather than parrot someone else's.

When I first started to grow I ended up with more than I expected, for some reason I wasn't ready to eat them, but I could sense they wanted to be eaten so one night I went around to bars and left a quarter in all the bathroom stalls. That night I'm sure my babie were put to use.

I confess, sometimes I can feel the life in my tubs and I hear them in my head saying if they are happy or thirsty. I talk to my shrooms sometimes and always throw love at them.

They both look pretty awesome to me. I've been wanting to cultivate edibles for a bit now. Just not sure which to grow.  I
I confess I'd love to grow some cool edibles and sell them to some of the small health food stores and little coffee shops that offer a small selection of locally grown organics.

I do know what in talking about.  Don't get all butt hurt because you like growing oysters in a tub. This subject has been gone over before.  You are wrong dude.  Don't guide people to do dumb shit

Go over to edibles and let them laugh you right out of the forum. You would be better off growing oysters out of a laundry basket. They require A LOT of fae.

Confession:
I have two syringes, one PESA and the other AA+, the AA+is older than the PESA and it was contaminated, i don't work with agar yet but i decided to keep it and give it away to someone who can clean it and us it.

The two syringes are beside each other in the fridge inside zip loc bags and i didn't label them.

Two months ago i inoculated 6 grain jars with what i thought the PESA syringe, only to end up with AA+ fruits and i am going to harvest the first flush today .

I was wondering why the tub was modified differently in the pics, I still think it's cool to grow in a mono, especially for an amateur mycologists.lol could I even consider myself an amateur mycologists?
True confession, I love talking about mushroom with a close few, I wish I could be more open about what I know and learning.

oysters are rugged as hell but everyone knows they dont do well in monotubs, well almost everyone at least..

proof is in the pudding, they look like shit in tubs, sad, small, weird, you couldn't even give them away to a chef.

Yes you can grow them. Nobody in the right mind would recommend it, but hey, to each their own. If you do it right, you can get some really great BE with oysters.  The stipe is rather undesirable with them, so you basically want all cap, no stem.but you'll get fruits. I just think since you can literally grow them out of bread bags and laundry baskets from the dollar store, why bother. I'm done with that topic now, I've said everything I have to say.
