I confess that the first time I tried making spawn I inoculated mushy whole brown rice in a 6qt tub I used as an SAB and later planned to use as a shoebox. Worse was that the grain jars came straight out being sterilized and was so hot that I burned my hand trying to handle them and probably killed all the spores too.
that's a good one dude.

I confess I left two contaminated as all fuck grows going for a week to see what happened. I finally threw them in the compost today and the smell was so incredibly bad I'm now scared to go near the compost bin.

On the plus side I bet your compost is gonna go nuts.my whole garden this year is fed by composted cube substrates and over a hundred pounds of contamed grain from getting fake sfds off of eBay. My plants love it I got a couple tomato plants pushing some 2.5lb fruit when they barely were a lb last year kept my compost pile hot until we got below zero

I confess, I'm to paranoid to keep notes unless they are encrypted, I'm not comfortable with notebooks laying around that document my illegal activities. But, that's just me.

I'll confess I am a spaz, adhd, and can't sit still. After having a good run of cult for a few years I got lazy and started "streamlining" my teks, queue worst contams I've ever gotten. Sometimes plates look finally clean and on next X-fer, hello darkness my old friend.
Speaking of sporeprints, is sterility really something to care about? I mean you have hopefully a metric fuckton of spores>other spores. So I would imagine most times a dark print in non-sterile conditions is just fine.
Considering most of my prints are done with me breathing, touching, calling my wife to ask what color that is etc, I never saw the point of a SAB or gloving up...

I used to be preeetty sloppy with printing and never had any issues. I think it’s really only an issue if it’s for syringes or you took it from a trich covered tub. I have gotten prints from people that grew solid mold everywhere I dragged the loop though. Idk how that can happen unless it was able to grow on the print.
I confess yesterday a spent a good 40 minutes cutting and lining up natalensis caps in a tub to print, then stood up to turn the hood off and knocked the tub of caps onto the floor

I confess that, when I was disinfecting 12 BRF verm jars with my home appliance Tefal PC, after 45 minutes I topped it up with COLD water, and I just poured it all over the jars, and it cracked or shattered every single one of them..

I confess that I forgot to label the jar that I g2g to 21 other jars and now have no idea what is in it. It might be B+, or it might be Rusty Whytes.
Only time will tell. Spawned the grain to bulk today across 6 bins. Hoping for RW

LOL, similar enough. I like to shuffle caps around and get 2-3 prints from the same cap. So was doing the final shuffle and using up all the real estate on a piece of foil and sneezed. Smeared the prints, snot on prints, and crushed a cap in my hand...got pissed and just threw the snotty mess into a jar and it turned navy black and I poured it in my cube patch.

Old confession … I may have even confessed this before. Years ago when I started growing after a 15-20 year break, I kept it a secret from my family for a while.
I was growing inside a microwave box, with a small tub inside as a shot gun fruiting chamber. I had a tiny light inside that whole set up on a timer. This was all shoved in back of a spare closet behind the cat box, with empty cat litter cans stacked in front of it. It took me nearly 10 minutes to get in there after I had the house to myself!
The other confession from this era was that I would keep a row of spawn jars in the back of my sock drawer!
While I was having a pretty good trip on one of my first harvests of B+ The mushrooms told me I needed to come clean to my wife and I did. I still kept it secret from the kids (in their early to mid teens) for a year or two but then it got easier when I grew some oyster mushrooms and just never told them about the other type until they were in their late teens early twenties.
😊

I confess, I let a shoebox of perfectly fine thai fruits go without harvesting for so long the fruits rotted and moulded over just cause I never got around to it.
Been there done that… more times than I care to confess! 🤣

Hey Psilo, good to see you. Did you ever get anything interesting from that big tex print?
I confess I just can't get into harvesting cleanly with a knife. My favorite part of this whole thing is grabbing big handfuls of clusters of shrooms and just riiiiiiiipping them off the substrate.

Can the surface still give a good second flush?
I confess I'm afraid to take mushrooms because the experience is intense and a little unpredictable.

It all fuzzes back over. But I rarely get canopies on the second flush, even when I cut them neatly. If you get a high enough yield from the first flush, the second is gonna come in pretty sparse.
