Dude, I don’t even know where to start. It is the most magically zany wholesome insightful and fun show ever. It makes me question my motives and cheers me up. I cannot express how beneficial it has been for me over the years. As therapeutic as watching birds. You must carve out some time to initiate yourself. Episodes are short like 15 min. Some episodes are insanely trippy and mind bending. And the characters are all relatable somehow :freakout:  :freakout:  :freakout:

I love adventure time, it is truly an amazing show especially considering you could watch it with kids as it's completely clean. Good way to spend time withe nieces and nephews.

I haven't watched midnight gospel yet I need to

That’s a good way to put it. I felt like I was catching a contact high but in a brain-cell-obliteration kind of way.

The midnight gospel I’ve seen a couple of, gotta be really high and in a specific mood for that.

Let's stay on topic family...

I confess, I feel rusty AF after a year off, even my technique needs fine tuning again, but in all honesty,  I'm stoked about having growth going again.  There's sooo much that I have planned, may be a little ambitious for some of them,  but that's OK because I'm not afraid of failure.

I confess, staying on topic would require our posts to be related to mycology, not fungiculture.

Sorry for being a doofus. I just get irritated about the word mycologist on this thread name.

I confess. After a long (10 yrs) haiatus from growing mushrooms, getting married, having children, I have started up grain jars and agar. I had bought a giant 12"x24x24 99.9997 hepa filter and fan 10 years ago and never built a box for it, finally pulled the trigger and built one a couple weeks ago out of scrap wood shelves I had. Took about a day and worked out great, I know now the filter obviously isn't ideal but having sat on it for 10 years I decided to give it a try. My agar is less than a week old but my Oyster mushrooms (pink and blue) and my red reishi liquid cultures all have taken off on the agar and grain jars. My test Agar jars haven't contammed yet, I left them open for 15 minutes in front of the flowhood, so I have great hope. I'm really not sure where all this is heading but it feels great to be back at it again after so long. I missed my mush Family. I also found a Penis Envy Print from 2002 that I was gifted from a forum member. It has been stored in dark coolish conditions and was sealed in laminated paper like a bookmark. What will the next 10 years bring...

That would be incredible if you had a PE print. I haven’t heard any success stories trying to print them.

the print came from a very well respected mycologist on the other forum, I won it on a contest. It's real small but I think the miracle will be if it would germinate after that many years.

Welcome back!!!
10 years is a long time, but I have heard of people having success, looking forward to seeing what happens.

Knowing how common it is that people occasionally faint on mushrooms I never really expect to read about folks tripping and going into water or on boats, please use your heads guys!!! :oldman:
Mushrooms are fine for going to concert but not for driving the car to the concert you know? Walk in forest or lay in bed home but please don't try to rock climb or base jump while tripping that's just dangerous, kind of like swimming or sitting on the edge of a boat while being out of your mind on shrooms... Be safe y'all :bongload:

I've been a fairly experienced tripper for about 12 years now and I know not to be a complete moron when tripping. I get that sentiment to do something gentle like laying in bed but I get the most out of it doing things like swimming in the ocean/tubing/mountain hikes/ ect. Granted I did vastly underestimate that river, last time I went trippy tubing it was a gentle mountain river that was very peaceful. Still, no regrets. Me and my team beat the challenge and came out stronger

I have a similar yearly canoe trip, about 30 dudes, 3 days on the river. I bring the shrooms. A few years ago I started bringing tea instead of dried. Feels better crossing state lines with a gallon of tea concentrate than a half pound of dried in jars, plus scale. Anyway, this year I tried a new experiment. In addition to the usual tea made from dried, I made and brought a batch made from fresh fruits. I always test the tea before the trip so I can feel fairly confident not to incapacitate anyone as there are several rapids that require attention.

Long story short, I was pleased to find that tea made from fresh is equally potent to tea from dried fruits, by weight. Meaning, I can make the same gallon of tea from 1/10th the fruits by using fresh. Plus it was totally blue! This makes me consider changing how I store my harvests. Frozen tea lasts...

That's a really interesting idea about making it fresh and freezing it. I've heard of people doing that but making a whole gallon and just thawing it whenever you want some sounds way nice if the potency stays throughout the freeze.

And I would totally do a trippy canoe trip, might have to incorporate that next time. Or kayak.. that'd be fun to.

I confess it’s been so long I was surprised I remembered my user name and password. Haven’t had a grow in a year or more. It was def pre COVID-19 cause I remember the glove and alcohol being a factor in my grows failing so I just hung it up and started making whiskey. Well I got a life time supply of moonshine now but no mush! Gonna fruit a few for my buddy while I work on a new culture. I also confess. I didn’t do anything but hydrate the coir. People still cooking / fucking up good coolers to prep coir or did the no cook catch on while I was away?
