Same converted my tent to an automated FC for gourmets...so no seedlings inside. May try a windowsill but not even worth the effort/space.

Building another 100' greenhouse as soon as the snow is gone. Produce is good money right now. People are paying 150 for a flat of tomatoes that sold for 20 before the world went nuts. I live in one of those bread basket places and the auctions are looking scarce these days and everyone is selling everything for top dollar. Lot's of desperate buyers.
Many of the big commercial farms that mostly make money on subsidies aren't operating this year. Hoping to build up some $ for a "junk land" grab by the seasons end.
I confess I've been obsessing over alternative energy sources and how to fuel them. It would take 87 acres of sunflower for the oil needed to run a 30k watt veg oil generator for a year. That would power the whole farm. A battery bank would cut the oil consumption in half.
Pignut might just be the way to go though. Pignuts give 1 gallon of oil per 5 gallon bucket of unhulled nuts. It is clear clean burning oil and is also great for food grade oil. Pignuts are too bitter to eat but the oil is clear and sweet.
A decent expeller press is around 5k new for one that makes 3 gallons per hour.
Also thinking about how to capture electricity from the steam escaping from sterilizers as well as piping the steam into big fruiting hoops to increase humidity.

lol have the coffin filled with coir and some spawn all over you.
They should make a shroom version of “how high” where somebody does that and then people can see him when they eat the shrooms grown on his body.

Definitely a good idea for a movie I always trip watching that movie and it’s bad ass but a shroomy one would be killer .. unfortunately it would have to star mostly white people and that’s against the law

Wife is allergic to nasties so I have to be super clean now days. No more letting shit sit in my old dusty shop detached from the house. Gotta be clean clean clean.
The bonus is that she can smell mold before I know I even have it. I always get the "Something is off" and go looking through plates and jars till I find it.
Nichrome, do the sunflower thing and send me the pressed seeds. I love these Black Oil Sunflower Seeds.

They are oily so when you boil you will have more oil in the top layer of the water. But if properly dried and PC'd they work better than Oats in my opinion. They end to hold up better to a shake and have a nice contrast.

I confess I'd rater buy corn than black sunflower seeds for spawn production. It's even cheaper and I'd just bag it all up eitherway.

I confess: I am really nervous about this upcoming casing. 1st time really growing PE out, few shoeboxes that look great for 2-3 day recovery. Based on colonization, I'm thinking I'll be casing this weekend for early next week (spawned 3.7) Worried tho that I made it thru the agar work, the grain prep and noc, all to botch the pasteurizing for the casing lol
don't know if I am going to try and follows Crons vid on pasteurizing, or Franks tek on the stove with my thermometer...
