I confess I wanted to read the entire thread before I posted (I'm in the 800's)...
But I got the first harvest yesterday and I'm so proud of my little mushy babies I can't even. It was eight whole mushrooms. I figured out why my boxes were so unhappy.
I confess I let them be cold enough for so long it took them FOREVER to colonize and pin.
I confess I had no idea how much moisture they needed and since they took so long, I was torturing my mushies by keeping them way too dry. After I got the water better, I went from sad pins not growing to open caps and nice sizes in half of a day.
I confess... my boxes were as cold and dry as Ben Shapiro's wife's vagina. This flush is the thinnest, worst canopy I've ever seen.
I'm still so happy I got mushrooms to grow to the point where they needed to be harvested.
Fingers crossed flush #2 is more than eight mushies!

I did two spore prints from my first two caps, and I ripped one in half and used my scalpel (flame treated on one of my wife's scented candles, shhh don't tell on me) to get it on an agar pastyplate, and I half assed to Josex Poke with a needle I'd steralized in my pressure cooker to try to get it on a second agar plate just in case.
I figure anything tough enough to fruit in that environment probably has genetics I want. I'll take the "Unkillable by newbs" mushrooms for $1,000, Alex.
And yeah.. it's Golden Teachers.

Just pulled everything that I have and completely disassembled the grow area. LAGM master jars are ready for G2G right now. I'll probably just let them over colonize and hopefully pick up where I left off in a month or so. Until then, everything is on hold.
BTW that gigantic FFU is hard AF to conceal lol.

Add 100ml naptha, close jar toght and shake agressively for 10 min. Allow layers to separate then sprinkle a dash of lye to settle the emulsion layer. Separate the naptha into a collection vessel and allow to settle so any purple shit sticks to the bottom, then decant into a jar for precipitation. Freeze for 24-36hr or until precipitation stops and the naptha appears translucent. Decant naptha, collect crystals and then air dry 24hr spread loosely in a clean pyrex dish. If you want to further refine the product with hexane you can turn off white powder into white powder, and if you so choose, you may recrystalize your mass into a solid chunk in a mold or small dish. Nothing like a chunk of ivory, but a chunk of white rock DMT sure is close.
Sorry OP for slightly derailing the thread...
Thanks for writing that out for me Quirk. I feel like i'm bound to make some mistakes the first time or two.
Also, Naptha sketches me out but seems to be the tried and true method.

I confess I barely use protective equipment. I got aprons in the kitchen
I confess I've been slacking with this snowy weather. I just feel like it's a snow day every day. Got a whole mountain of work that just needs transferred. That and a few hundred lb grain to prep. Seems like 50lb dry oats is about 24 bags for me. Nice to grasp a number for things

Same here. About 72 all week.
I’m jealous of the 70% of the US covered in snow right now.

I hate cold and snow. Eventually I’ll talk the wife into moving to AZ or WA or I’ll leave her ass, One of the two. I was only supposed to spend a year or two here. Somehow it turned into 21 years.. still don’t feel like home

Congrats, dude. It's an awesome accomplishment you should be proud of. Most don't get that far. Keep it up, bro.

Old greenhouse setup had bad draining. Bunch of nasty spores and water drains onto some carpet that’s very out of sight. Realized the draining situation, moved the gh to find some gnarly mushrooms I wouldn’t care to id growing straight out the carpet. Drying that area out right now.
