This winter bullshit is definitely making my cult routines a lot less pleasant. Grain prep is a bit more difficult. I basically made IQF WBS today.

Don’t even wash jars anymore.. that’s how lazy I am. I rinse when I spawn em and rim wipe after I load em. I figure the shit on he glass is the first thing that gets sterilized. The rinse gets em pretty clean

Oh God. I confess that I am scared to know what "The Boy Wash" really is.
Yeah D3, I broke down and got a large plastic utility sink for the basement. Was like 99 bucks at HD

Pretty sure the mushrooms gods are smiling down on me. I might luck out and have fruits to harvest the same day my wife and kids leave the state to visit family for the weekend. This could be really good 😌

I confess that I'm addicted to this hobby.
This is the first thing that I've picked up that I initially sucked at but stuck through the failures and learning curves. Every other hobby and job I've had through my life has been something I was already good at naturally, so I just honed in my skills and stuck with those. But this hobby is completely different. A few months ago I was dealing with like 50% contamination rates on my plates and recently I've somehow been able to manage 100% successful transfers and LC's with no bacteria to speak of.
I've had a hard a hard time this last year as many of us have with unemployment and quarantine and shit but this has kept me relatively sane. Being able to grow your own doesn't hurt either

Yep that’s the usual story. I went into cult planning on growing around 1/4lb and being done.
I did not expect it to be as interesting as it is, or there to be so many kinds of mushroom.
Plus learning stuff you suck at is the most fun when you finally master it.

I confess I LOVE the smell of rye drying! I've been using oats cuz thats all I can find consistently, but a buddy of mine works for a grain inspection company and he found me a couple 50lb bags of rye at an elevator on the other side of the state! Its good to have friends in high places! Lol

My whole house smells like tortillas when I cook corn. I add a pinch of calcium hydroxide to the boil which causes the tortilla smell instead of the corn candy smell.
