I like to save money. I wouldn't need 100 fresh plates at a time, I would just rather have that many so that when I got down to 20 or so, I could clean and sterilize them all at one time vs doing it every 2 weeks.

I've contemplated getting glass ones but I just keep adding varieties to my repertoire without cutting any from the roster... ive got 25+ kinds all at various stages on about 300 plates right now... not sure what my plan is for the future, I really don't need all the fruits... my goal currently is getting prints.

I confess I'm bored as hell at work... doing our annual inventory... had my whole area done yesterday but were supposed to keep counting parts thru Friday... ugh. Ive been digging thru old threads outta boredom.

I confess, I'm a jackass. Used some spare glass bottle for temporary media bottles PC'd last night with plan to remelt in microwave and pour plates this morning. Woke up and realized the bottles I used have metal lids...... Guess I'm doing it the hard way.

I confess, I am afraid to take the antipsychotics my therapist is suggesting. Anyone ever take these for paranoia? I wonโ€™t want to destroy my brain. My therapist is not opposed to me using psilocybin necessarily although she is seeking alternative avenues of therapy for me until I can legally dose for therapeutic reasons.

It's rare I pour less than a hundred in a session. It would take me years to break even on the cost of glass.

Today when inoculating i pushed an agar wedge with the side of the lid and into the jar

God I hate making stupid mistakes like this....

Okey, i confess i couldnt resist, had other jar contaminate and in an attempt to avoid losing another jar to contamination i took the wedge out and resterilized it.

BUT knowing how dumb I am  i decided i would wrap the lids with saran wrap and sterilized in orther to avoid contaminating the outside of the lid in plain air before incoulating  that way if i accidentally pushed the wedge with the lid it wouldnt be sooo worrying.
:rollsafe:

I really loved how tight the saran wrap came out of the PC, i will continue doing it to keep the neck of the jar as sterile as posible before inoculating

It's so much more than that to me. I love watching things grow, particularly when I am the that initiated the growth. I like watching the mycelium colonize the different substrates from agar to grains to the final fruiting substrates and then watching each pin develop into a mature mushrooms. Isolating the different sectors of genetics is fascinating to me, so many differentvarieties of shapes and sizes and colors. Sometimes you might find something special like PE, Rusty White and others. For me it's becoming more of a passion than a hobby or possibly an obsession. I confess that mycology and cultivation of study materials has provided me with an outlet to take my mind away from the daily monotony of life.

Well right i think I agree with you too, but I was referring to the time involved lol. Like watching a jar colonize will always interest me, but really it's slow af compared to the everyday life

I confess, I ate a 20 ounce New York strip and a bunch of sweet potato fries when I got home from work, and now I feel like sleeping instead of doing  transfers.

I confess that I often use the "who's online" feature to find new threads to read and participate in.

I didn't even realize you could do that. Haha. Thanks Nichrome.
I confess I often find myself flipping back and forth between the threads I'm already in and forget there is a whole forum here to dig through until I have a thought or question that I need to research. I do spend a decent amount of time in the Mush Cult board, but the Pub? Yeah I don't get over there too often. It can be a bit too reddit-y over there for me sometimes.

Well I'm still excited. Just started using Parafilm tape.
While eating Pizza ๐Ÿ•, a long ribbon of cheese stretched out
and I thought, ooh, Parafilm tape!
Still infatuated with my glass petris, they're so purdy!
