I confess that I went through something similar a couple months ago. These things come and go.  It is good sometimes to follow your motivation. Maybe it's time for energy spent on other venues. I've tried to push through those moments and force motivation and often ended up regretting it as the unmotivated work was sub par and was more struggle than it was worth.

Yeah Psilo, after running this hobby scince 2005. Sometimes it helps to take a break and reset. Also the winter is getting me all bummed cause the temp drops.

I confess I think my next creation is gonna be a 55 gallon bulk steamer.

I confess that I wish it was easier to be friends in real life with some of you guys. So many like minded people who do such great things that I'll never get to meet. It always makes me laugh, smile, feel sympathetic and empathetic, and sometimes even makes me want to cry with some of things I read from you all. Get my damn feelings goin.

That sentiment on friends really got me. I have two friends left that I actually consider to be so. I weeded everyone else out. It's hard playing Dr. Phil when everyone has a problem and I just got so sick of it. I have I feel lonesome sometimes because I can't always just go hand with my 2 anytime I want, everyone has a life they gotta live. What really annoys me about myself is that I have some other people that would probably make great friends that have asked me to hangout and I always blow them off because I think about how they could just be shitty later on. Sucks.

Winter months always hit hard man. I can't ever determine how i'm about to feel day to day around these times.

I just have that weird mix of introvert and extravert. I really enjoy being social half the time, people love to be around me and I can talk your head off if you get me going. But then there's that side of me that wish everyone would fuck off and leave me in my basement to play my games, be on shroomery, and stare at my tubs for an hour.

And adrenochrome that shit cracked me up. Sometimes that's what life's about, my gotta be a tub sometimes.

I can't be the only one that realizes this hobby literally is just cleaning, watching paint dry and then more cleaning?

Well I'm still excited. Just started using Parafilm tape.
While eating Pizza 🍕, a long ribbon of cheese stretched out
and I thought, ooh, Parafilm tape!
Still infatuated with my glass petris, they're so purdy!

They're pricey up front but it would save money in the long run. I'm also not sure that I want to upkeep the cleaning and sterilizing. I don't like the idea of sterilizing them in the PC because of the condensation build up. It'll go away after a few days but I'd rather not have to deal with it and wait. You can sterilize them in the oven but energy is expensive too. To be worth it, I'd prefer to sterilize atleast 100 at a time and I dont think I wanna spend that much money on plates.

It really is a personal choice. My situation...only have 24 plates LOL, right there will tell sumpin.
The oven and washing expense, really? We wash dishes every night and use the oven often too, for food even!
For me, the best part is tossing an agar puck, washing the plate, and starting new, fresh. That feeling that
all I'm spending is some agar, so I'm free to go thru plates. And I'm still using the first heavy duty aluminum
sheets I started with.

Yeah I don't feel you and i are too far off inthepit. I have no interest in running more than 50 plates at a time, hence why I'm sticking to my original lagm plan of demonstrating you don't need cases of plastic petri dishes to be a good mycologist.

So yeah, maybe dropping the cash on 40 glass petri doesn't make sense when I've been running the same ziploc pasty plates with no warping or real issues for the last 8 months or however long it's been since I regged
