Had to look that one up, AKA.

I confess that after traveling, I am more excited to see my plates than my own bed and cat.

I confess I really empathize with a lot of these sentiments about "friends".  I spent years being everyone's rock until I finally gained a functional understanding of the old saying "he who has quenched his thirst immediately turns his back on the well,  no longer needing it."

I also confess I had a run-in with PC drought recently.  First time it's happened with one of my Presto units.  Regular 90min cycle with 3 qts water and when I took the lid off there was maybe 1/3 cup of water in the depression in the bottom. :uhoh:

So much relatable stuff in this thread.  Sometimes (I must confess) I read through it to get that feeling of relatability.  :thatsinteresting:

Feels for reals.
I think most people in this thread have found something in this community that they hold dear and can not find elsewhere. But beyond that, this thread is like therapy for me. So many relatable discussions and just good, thoughtful concepts. I often come here just to read through them and sort of find peace in knowing I am not alone in some of these ways. Even better is when one confession turns into almost a quid pro quo of each member sharing their experience when that particular topic.

Ya know that's exactly what I was thinking. Last time I went to
grain, after all the tracking, logs, spread sheets, I forgot to
note which jar went to which shoebox! Booom! Crap shoot!

I wish I hadn't lost count of how many times I've done dumb shit like this.

To make this post relavent:
I confess I developed an entire SKU style numbering system to track plates and transfers in a hand written log. Each plate got a code, that would be reference in the book to see both what it was and where it came from.In the long run you would be able to trace genetics back to the start of the system.
That worked great until it didn't. Shit happened, I fell behind, and suddenly I have a fuck ton of plates with some nonsense scribbled on it (example: A020C5) and no clue what any of them were.

A.k.a said:
Last lagm I did a bunch of transfers without wrapping the plates and was stacking them on the SAB as I went. I was so stoked on getting all the cultures going and then I stood up and bumped the box and they all flew on the floor and my dogs gobbled them up. :laugh2:

That sucks but that is also hilarious. My dog is always with me, even in the lab doing sterile work so I can totally see this happening.

I confess I’m letting about twenty jars sit and doing nothing - they’ve been fully colonized since about December 7th. I just can’t seem to get motivated to do anything with them...
I really need to bust it out because I’m completely out of shroomz and I know someone will come knocking before I have any more medicine to give them.

Mid winter blas I guess.
I’m not even logging in to the shroomery more than once or twice a week.

I confess that I went through something similar a couple months ago. These things come and go.  It is good sometimes to follow your motivation. Maybe it's time for energy spent on other venues. I've tried to push through those moments and force motivation and often ended up regretting it as the unmotivated work was sub par and was more struggle than it was worth.

I confess that I wish it was easier to be friends in real life with some of you guys. So many like minded people who do such great things that I'll never get to meet. It always makes me laugh, smile, feel sympathetic and empathetic, and sometimes even makes me want to cry with some of things I read from you all. Get my damn feelings goin.

That sentiment on friends really got me. I have two friends left that I actually consider to be so. I weeded everyone else out. It's hard playing Dr. Phil when everyone has a problem and I just got so sick of it. I have I feel lonesome sometimes because I can't always just go hand with my 2 anytime I want, everyone has a life they gotta live. What really annoys me about myself is that I have some other people that would probably make great friends that have asked me to hangout and I always blow them off because I think about how they could just be shitty later on. Sucks.

Winter months always hit hard man. I can't ever determine how i'm about to feel day to day around these times.

I just have that weird mix of introvert and extravert. I really enjoy being social half the time, people love to be around me and I can talk your head off if you get me going. But then there's that side of me that wish everyone would fuck off and leave me in my basement to play my games, be on shroomery, and stare at my tubs for an hour.

And adrenochrome that shit cracked me up. Sometimes that's what life's about, my gotta be a tub sometimes.

Well I'm still excited. Just started using Parafilm tape.
While eating Pizza 🍕, a long ribbon of cheese stretched out
and I thought, ooh, Parafilm tape!
Still infatuated with my glass petris, they're so purdy!
