Thought most contams showed themself in that time. But if there is one think I know, it's that I don't know shit
I've had contams show up 10-14 days later, but most appear in the 1st 5 days, any growth appearing in the 1st two days is always contamination.

Quick response for me though and readily sent me a return label and everything. I know i'm going to continue my mycology related business with him for sure. Handled it like a champ.
I wanted to try to use it one time to see but i'd rather just not waste any plates/jars/ect on trying to maybe make sure it works. I'm sure he can probably just refurbish it and make it like new again, except for those filters.
This is awesome man. Glad they worked it out with you and you're getting a nice hood.

I confess I am rusty as fuck! It's been a while since I've been in the cult and things I did hundreds of times feel unfamiliar and klunky. I miss my hours long lab sessions; pouring 80+ plates in a SAB while listening to jazz. Now, just making the MSS and noc'ing some of jars feels off. Making some agar as I type some hopefully pouring some plates tonight to get back in the groove.
TL;DR I don't like feeling new again

So I underestimated the number of shrooms produced by a monotub. My glass storage containers are full. Is it bad to just keep the caps and throw away the stems?

Shit you could; Make tea and freeze Make chocolates Or just put em in a ziplock bag, it’s not ideal but it will be good enough for a month or two while you embark on a quest for more jars.

How long would vacuum sealing hold up realistically? I really like these vac bags for just about everything around the house/kitchen/lab
50 Quart 8" X 12" FoodVacBags Black Back Clear Front Vacuum Seal Bag Pouch, Pre-cut, Foodsaver Compatible, Perfect for Display https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07YVH53DK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glc_i_wJ43FbWAPXMJQ
I like them cause you vac seal at the bottom and the top has that nice tear off / zip opening so it’s resealable once opened.
The fancy mylar pouches are nice for prints too, only downside is they kinda heavy so I always use two stamps
100 Pieces Resealable Smell Proof... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B081ZTDBL3?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Just cram them in the jars. I had that problem too and just started pressing the shrooms down as hard as I could to fit more. It’s like brick weed but malabar coast mushrooms lol. Gotta crack a piece off and fluff it up.

I've never EVER sterilized my scapel before doing agar work. I dont know if im the onlyone, but its something that i always knew was a great idea, but never caused any trouble.
I cant be the only one doing this, right?
