Dude I bet it was the best feeling ever when you realized you misread whatever it was. It sucks you spent all that time stressing but man that relief when you realized the mistake...

Can this also be a stupid question thread?
I leave my lids on with filters on the gas holes while my tubs are consolidating after spawning. Is this still best practice or should I be fanning them? I've only ever gotten to this stage twice so I really don't know from experience.

I confess that I smuggled a fishbowl novelty grow across the border and back because I didn't want to leave it alone for a long weekend.

I'm not sure i understand your question. You are leaving lids on your jars after you spawn them? Why would you fan empty jars?

Yeah and that's my fault sorry. Here's a picture to help explain

I'm just using takeout trays because we bought a big pack from Costco for some reason and now we have a fuck ton. So I drilled 2 1/4" holes for gas exchange but didn't want to keep them exposed while eating up the substrate. I'm hoping that's right.
I know it seems like a stupid question considering how much time I spend here but I'm legitimately confused because like I said this is only the third time I've actually been able to work with spawn. Everything else has contammed out for me before getting here. And the last time I did it I was just going off of reddit's advice with how they run monotubs, I just made mine smaller.

While colonizing bulk its not important to keep em entirely sealed. That's mainly for shit that gets sterilized. That being said I wouldn't touch them until they are fully colonozed

Okay thanks. Once they're fully colonized I'm just popping off the lid and putting them in the fruiting chamber.

Man, I feel that. I spent god knows how long tracking down jars on FB. Drove so far, lost sleep. I ended up scrounging near 100 though. Scored nearly 4 cases from the thrift at $1 a jar. Got another 4 cases from this dude whose family owned the largest apple farm in my state. He says he has a couple thousand... all need to be cleaned though. I put in an order for 200 more before I realized I wanted to use bags instead. Come to think of it, pretty sure I have over 100 now. Only a small fraction are wide mouth though.
I've got like 4 cases rattling around in my cab right now. 36 as masters in the TIT.
The ones from the guy came in the original old boxes..

YOU TOOK ALL THE JARS. I knew it was one of you on here
And gah damn dirty it looks like you went to the ends of the earth for all those lmao. I tried to look on letgo but no go. I guess FB would be a good place to have a look. I mean I called every single target/walmart/ace hardware/ect ect and none of them have a single jar
I looked on amazon and they are selling a 12 pack for like 50$ like wot.

FB is definitely the place. Bed Bath and Beyond tends to have them. I had to drive 30 miles one way to buy up all the white lids a wally world had. I got like 6 sleeves and was ecstatic.

Am I the only person that uses ziplocs? Reusable, easier to dump shit out and scoop shit into, no rust to worry about, like idk. They're pretty much everywhere still around me

I don’t know if the ziploc prices are inflated right now but ball jars are still cheaper at the stores I found them.
