It's been brought up more than once in different threads, I'm starting to get the sense that Aka is the "instapot king"

I started out with one back when the plan was to do like five shoeboxes and retire but that went out the window real quick.

I do love them though. Besides awesome food they’re perfect for agar and pasteurization.

Once I got a taste of how much spawn even a small pc preps there’s no going back to one quart at a time in the instantpot unless it’s the only option.

I JUST got one for food, maybe using it for agar will be my next move!

I have often mused at the fact that my full sized units seem like overkill when just doing agar.

I keep my presto around just for small tasks like agar. The entire cycle takes almost no time on a good burner.

Well, I've been kicked in the balls and now the teeth!!! My dad died the 29th, my mom had emergency surgery for an infection caused by diabetes, she's now on ventilator, things are very grim.

I'm trying to not take all of this personally but damn if it ain't hard! I'm being left to handle all this and one of my siblings is already bitching about inheritance, I'm literally trying to not snap and kick the living shit out of them. I hate a mothafucker with a sense of entitlement!!!! Hope everyone is well,  I miss you guys.

Good lord man. I don’t know how you’re doing it.

It’s incredible how selfish people can be even with family. I have a friend who’s dad got sick also and took care of him on his own for two years. As soon as he got bad and moved to hospice the guys two siblings materialize talking about lawyers and inheritance shit. How you guys don’t snap dealing with stuff is beyond me.

Stay up and keep trudging through man, hopefully the universe ends your cosmic testing soon.

i waited almost 20 years to grow and finally did during lockdown.
first learned about the spore thing in the early 2000s, but didn't have a place to grow. also didn't have the guts - i'd only just started smoking weed!

grew gourmets for the first time using a lot of info i found here several years later, when i was living in one of the no-spores-allowed states - cloned an eryngii to agar in open air by a blowtorch, took it to grain, spawned it to alder shavings, then freaked out over a small patch of trich when it was almost fully colonized and buried it. got pins popping out a few days later, but the ants and snails got to them before i could.

*finally* did shrooms for the first time during quarantine, realized i was was now living in a spores-okay territory and that i'd already acquired a lot of the necessary equipment piece-by-piece over the years. bit the bullet and bought a few MSS and some Ready Rice pouches - i know, i know, but i wanted to get started FAST once the syringes arrived and my pressure cooker was full of lentil soup!

just harvested flush #1 of my second active grow, and my first is starting to pop up pins for its second flush. grow three is a Pan cyan, though i'm concerned about the overlay on my casing...

Hell yea that would be pretty awesome. You could put a false pantry in there and hide the room.

I confess that I keep getting called in on these random 1 week business trips and its fucking with my cult time.

That closet would be sick. Just throw a hood where the dresser is and it’s perfect.

I confess that some days ago I tossed 8 PE tubs into trash bags (was waiting for a second flush but needed the space so bad) and I gave them to a friend that has some land. He crumbled them a little, buried them all and has been watering the soil since day one to make sure it stays hydrated buy not soaked.

He sent me a pic today of what appears to be cube myc.

I'm curious to see what may come out of this.

I confess that it sucks being obsessed with a taboo hobby and the only people I can talk to about this shit have weird names like Tryptalkaloids and jcm and aka and pastywhyte. Whatever happened to people naming their kids Steve?
