lol i know man. I was gonna ask if we were allowed to vote for ourselves but figured everybody was planning on it anyway.
Then if I didn’t and lost by a vote I’d have to lay in bed at night pondering if it was all worth it or if I’d actually rather feel a little shitty while working in my new flowhood.

Wasn't worth the ethical dilemma to vote for myself lol but ended up casting a vote. "I confess " I was torn for a split second though...

I thought about it and ended up voting for myself. Aka is right, I'd rather feel guilty in the flow

I confess, a few days ago I took transfers and accidentally wrapped the donor plate.
Then I went to do more and found a bag of 4 plates was defective and never sealed, not even as much as a bacterial satellites I used em anyway. another bag of 3 was sealed but one of the 3 was covered in mold. that one is trashbound

I confess It is a mystery to me how I’ll end up with a nice clean stack of sealed plates prepared in front of the flowhood and a week later somewhere in the middle will be a plate full of mold... How does that happen?!

Just goes to show we can never let our guard down and our sterile technique can always be improved!

Lol I get that occasionally too. Twice I’ve found that the top of the lid had cracked where it joined the little wall part which was almost invisible, if the lid hadn’t flexed from my fingers I prob wouldn’t have even seen it.
The other ones I just figured I must’ve bumped something while pouring and knocked some particles off my finger or the stack of plates above it.
I saw this experiment a teacher did about how viruses spread before schools shut down that would be cool if we could adapt to sterile work to see where you have holes in your technique.
She got this invisible powder that glows in black light and dusted two kids palms with it at the start of the day. Then at lunch or whenever went around with the black light and you could see all the kids had streaks on their faces and arms, doorknobs and desks were covered. Pretty cool.

I pretty much had a full blown panic attack, when I learned that if you clone something and isolate one of the sectors that it might not grow the same as the original clone with all the sectors. I learned this after I spawned over 100, 3.5 quart bags of oats.

Yeah I don’t think that’s accurate or even something to worry about. I don’t worry about sectors with clones, just take what looks healthy and use it.

I confess that I've been growing for a little while now and didn't even know about the shroomery.
I was in a cult relationship, and now that we broke up I took to the internet to answer the odds and ends I would have normally hit him up for.

It certainly hasn't been proven or disproved but most of us would agree that it isn't something we worry as much about as we used to.

I confess, the temperature sensor on my oven went out, so it's pretty much just guessing. I'm pasteurizing some casing now and set it to 300 just to get the temp to climb faster, and I'm gonna sit here until it's done.
This makes me want a big steamer pasteurizer

How do you typically sterilize your casing? I put my first PE grains to substrate 2 days ago and have been curious about casings

You want to pasteurize casing instead of sterilizing.
Jiffy mix works pretty well right from the bag but an easy way to pasteurize it if you have an instant pot is to fill jars with wet casing and put them in the water on “keep warm” setting which holds the perfect temperature.
Otherwise you’ll need a meat thermometer.

I usually leave them at least four just to be sure. Make sure whatever’s in the jar is wet enough to transfer heat. I usually way overhydrate it until it’s pasteurized and then squeeze it out to use it. Overkill but not a problem for a few tubs.
