I confess that I'm a few days behind, please excuse my long post, trying to catch up.
Quote:
A.k.a said: I used to be really bad about dumping bad jars. I’d see a tiny spot and be like shit I’ll deal with that later and set it aside. Next thing I know it’s solid mold spores and I don’t want to touch it.
I’ve got probably 20 in a pyramid in the garage thatve been there 3 months. Occasionally I’ll get brave and dump one but the second I see a thick cloud of green pour out my skin crawls and I drop it and run off.
Keep thinking about paying these kids down the street to clean them but I don’t want to expose them to some crazy shit because I’m lazy and also couldn’t throw out a jar that costs one dollar.
I confess, cleaning contaminated jars and tubs in general is the part of mushcult that I absolutely dislike.
fill a bucket with soap and water, submerge the jars before opening them, once flooded you can dump the jars without spores being dispersed into the air. As for tubs, take them outside and dump into a designated spot for substrate. Isay a designated spot because you can still get fruit from contaminated substrate and they are safe to consume. Opening any contaminated containers inside your house is a bad idea because as soon as you remove the lid you are spilling spores out into the air, it's then pulled into the a/c intake and distributed throughout the house. lol i can see the news now local man arrested for operating an international online illegal psychedelic mushroom empire and exploiting local child labor to spread his devil mushrooms into your childrens classrooms tonite at 10
prolly not a good idea bro
That's funny, I was just talking to a 6th grade science teacher about growing mushrooms. She wants them to be able to observe the entire growth cycle. Would have to do a bulk grow of oysters on coir or something because I'm pretty sure the PF tek wouldn't go over well with parents if they realized what the tek was originally used for. Quote:
Grimsweeper said: lol right. I've been through a 500 count case of plates and still havent grown a wall to wall mono canopy without some gaps. I probably don't spend enough time working on clones.
Even clones have several sets of genetics, isolation of clone sectors can be easier than using multi spore because you don't have as many variables in my opinion. Once you get a good monoculture you will see the canopies you are striving towards. Quote:
Pastywhyte said: APE and PE do tend to be very very potent...it’s just that from spores nothing can be guaranteed so it’s still possible to grow weaker fruits. Just not very likely or common.
I had an Orissa that was extremely variable, it depended upon the sector, most were weak to moderate but then you would find that one kick ass plate that was magical. One of those you kick yourselfintheass whenits lost

Pastywhyte said: Also I confess I spotted my first pins in a year today and I feel like a noobie again. This hobby is great
Thanks for sharing this, I think it is important that the newbies see we make mistakes too.

lol aint nothing more depressing when you fuck up what would have been a stellar canopy of pans all cuz u were lazy and didnt fucking take a very very close look to see a bunch of tiny ass pins/knots before you decided to give a generous misting 1 last time before you thought pins would be there and ended up killing or stunting the fucking hell out of entire first flush and then the ones that did live were ugly as shit 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
ya mistakes fuckn suck😂😃

As a chemist you could probably do something unique, such as color code the molecules and overlap them where they share the same structure... the end result would be unrecognizable to anyone other than a chemist or very dialed in psychonaut...

Maybe you could run your design by the crew here...
That's actually a pretty cool idea
Yeah they all have that center indole group. Could find a way to incorporate that. Not sure. I'm not the most creative. I envy those that are. Some people can design dope tattoos on a whim

I confess, in my opinion, it would be so cool to combine chemistry with mushcult, so many things I would want to do. So much is still waiting to be discovered.

Every time. I like to go full tilt gourmet afterwards and eat bullshit junk while I cook it. Almost every time unless it's real late...

yes, I have also thought about sautéing up some pan. cyans with onions and bell peppers and portobellos on top of a nice rare T-bone with baked potatoes. Now I'm hungry, tks jcm.
edit: I don't care what time it is, I crave nutrition and not junk food but fresh fruit and veggies especially. It's like I can feel my body being recharged

I confess that I live in a state where I can find actives 99% of the year, but mushcult makes it even better by allowing me access to actives and edibles 100% of the year.
Everything is better on the come down, I'm usually at peace and in a better place all together.

I confess that even after all my problems with alcohol, a good beer at the comedown is always good.
I've somehow broken my alcoholic brain to no longer like or desire beer, so I have to admit the beers are always left half-full as I go to bed lol.

For me it's a texture and flavot craving more than it is a hunger.
I LOVE berries and fresh veggies on a comedown. Or a good salad with a rasberry dressing Bone apple queef
