In the very beginning of this rabbit hole of a hobby I once filled a qt jar with sawdust pellets and then proceeded to fill that jar with boiling water from the kettle.. I learned a valuable lesson in expansion that day, was also permanently banished to the basement by my girl for any future mushroom related activities.

I confess. I kinda fell off the planet when covid it. The lack of rubbing alcohol pushed me to a new hobby. Making whiskey.  Ive been doing a lot of reading on another forum and they suck. I missed you guys. I also confess. I dont even own a PC at the moment. May have to place an order cause I need to get back at it. That said mashing corn is a lot of fun. I highly recommend adding it to you list of things to do if you drink. Not a bad idea even if you dont. Never know when the rubbing alcohol will be gone again. Gonna go have a look around before bed tonight. It feels like I've been out of town for a few months but now I'm back at my house. I'ts a great feeling. Mush love y'all.

Just a heads up, pc's are kinda scarce at the moment so you're gonna pay a bit more and will likely experience a bit of a wait before you get one.

You can always check Craigslist and a app called OfferUp though. Sometimes you can find some deals on PC’s and stuff. I got a awesome dehydrator for cheap not to long ago. Haven’t even got to the master jar phase and I already got a new dehydrator lol. That’s my confession.

Yeah I may have to bite the bullet and get something that will last this time.  Prestos are cheap but not if you got to buy a new one every couple years. And ive always wanted something electric that I could run in the garrage so I dont have to stink up the house. I confess. I'm pumped tonget a grow going again. It feels like the first time.

I went through the whole PC debacle this year. It was a nightmare trying to find one and I was even scammed on ebay but got my money back. I eventually got one off ebay after weeks of searching but I had another one lined up (believe it or not) on the Sears website lol. Check it, I bet its still there. Its a 23 presto. Good luck!

https://m.sears.com/search=presto%20pressure%20cooker

Quite possibly the last one left on Earth.

Jars are even getting tricky. I only needed another dozen but 2 walmarts were sold out found them at target. Think I have somewhere around 80-90 now thats plenty for my needs.

Still see PC's and jars on offer up, etc. though.

If my hood ever broke down and I couldn't afford to fix it I'd probably quit until I could. I can't imagine ever dicking around in a SAB again. So much prep, wiping shit down, putting all the shit away again fuck that. Flick a switch let's go to work.

You say that until you need to clean up a moldy plate. A sab has its place even for someone with a flowhood

Fuck working on moldy plates in an SAB. Hold your breath, flick the hood of, switch to using still air technique, open the plate, give it your best shot, close it up, then it's flicking it on again and clear sailing  from there on.

FUCK SABs. Period. Even with moldy plates.

Thats a good idea actually if you really wanna do it. Probably have a good 10 seconds at least to get shit done. More if you have a small top and sides.

Yeah I do have a small top and sides, I doubt I'd try it without the overhead... But like you said, even without the overhead you probably got 5-10 seconds to do your work..

I've done it before, it works.

My secret shame.

This is one of 3 5 gallon buckets of almost 100% trich. It's quite literally consolidating. It's the result of 2 tubs, 12 mudda bottles and a shit ton of jars. I rushed a culture out the door and should have taken a few more transfers before using it for a giant li session.

I confess that this failure on a massive scale has me unmotivated to do any cult work.

Honorable Mention (not on topic but a winner!)

Jars have been spotty, but stores are getting stock on a regular basis -- it's just selling out fast.  I just got a few more cases and have 60 now. That should last me a good long while.
