Weve 60-80 chickens, and anywhere between 4 and 10 ducks at any given time... 2 goats as well: there's shit everywhere... 2 cockatoos inside but they behave and poo in the cages USUALLY... We've had a rooster with a bumblefoot infection that's been in and out with a face mask diaper for  nearly a year... OTC penicillin just isn't knocking it out, about time for soup lol: acquired some prescription oral antibiotics,  but amputation is looking more and more likely: he was head cock until the infection, so second man has been attacking him as well: have him segregated in a small fenced patch up front with babies, but the other one still fucks with him from time to time... surprisingly complex social structures, interesting ti watch a large group over time

We use a face mask with paper towels folded into it: you can change the towels, or even use handkerchiefs if you'd rather recycle

Lc is something even pros fuck up from time to time. Its much better to get consistent results with agar to grain before you move to liquids

I pretty much assume it will be months before a single shroom now :frown:

I wish the multiple years working on crystal clear dishes mattered. Even with online supervision ever being able to reach proper moisture content on any grain

So I'm stuck with unsatisfactory  brf jars with my agar. Sorry for bitching I just nowhere else to vent

If you have agar cleaned up and having trouble transferring that to grain you should transfer agar to LC and then take the LC to grain.

This is bad advice. If you have trouble with a2g then making an of isnt going to make things easier...

Its agar to LC, not spore to LC. Easy to tell if there are contamination, it will turn cloudy. I've seen a few of those. Otherwise the liquid is crystal even with LME, cotton like myc growing within.

I confess I've grown for several years and have never used any kind of liquid inoculant. Until I get consistently good results with agar I'm not touching liquids..

Been wanting to try blenderless LI. Do you just do it similar to Munch's tek? Also, how soft an agar do you find works? I normally run 2% agar for plates, but thinking I might try 1.5% for my soon to be LI plates when I try it

My secret shame.

This is one of 3 5 gallon buckets of almost 100% trich. It's quite literally consolidating. It's the result of 2 tubs, 12 mudda bottles and a shit ton of jars. I rushed a culture out the door and should have taken a few more transfers before using it for a giant li session.

I confess that this failure on a massive scale has me unmotivated to do any cult work.

I confess that I'm an agar junkie, it's something I've worked with way before I started growing mushrooms and its just fun to see all the different organisms that thrive on it.

I confess... I was showing my friend how to do A2G transfers the other day and started the lesson by saying "dont light yourself on fire"  well... lets just say that the 1st thing I did was burn off my armhair on my freshly iso'd arms:facepalm3::lol:  didnt hurt at all. Just dont panic if it happens.
I smothered em out real quick on my pantlegs
