I can say that one long term effect that cultivation has had on me personally is that in learning how to identify good growth, healthy mushrooms, and ideal conditions, I slowly turned that kind of observational focus on my self and realized a lot of things that were making me unhealthy (food, environment, mental thought patterns  etc).  I'd say that I'm a healthier person because of growing and that I'm much more aware of how conditions and environments have effects on large and small levels, physically and mentally.

I think in a way that idea is very cliche, but I don't necessarily think it's one that is really embraced to the extent it could be in people's lives.  But...what do I kno...I smoke weed all day and play with mycelium, so my worldview might not be the most common

If you replace "mic" with "myc" and think of "MC" as a "mushroom cultivator" you can really get a different perspective on hip hop music while u doing transfers

for some reason, when I see colorful mold sporulating, it doesn't get me as upset as when a jar or bag starts getting tons of condensation and heats up from an immanent mold attack.

no colors... not even a whispy white.... just that sweat looking you right in the eye as ur stomach drops and u realize the mold was there the whole time :borg:

u could probably find enough dry kibble on the floor of the dog food aisle to make a 500ml batch.  takes a tablespoon or 2 of dry kibble to get 10g ground up, and theres usually a few bags that have rips and spill out if u wanna try it for free

my dog is allergic (or maybe just really revolted by) cubensis spores.  it took about a year of growing and dehydrating, but at some point, he would never come into my room where he slept for the previous 6 years.

I ended up moving 2 years ago.  he went back to normal, sleeping in my new room with me.  then when I started a few smaller grows back up, he stopped coming in again.

I don't have to worry about it now cause I don't grow them, but it was definitely weird at first before I figured it out.

I think pasty's dog is allergic to oyster spores IIRC
