What do I do with my spore prints?
    #23948901 - 12/22/16 11:44 AM (7 years, 1 month ago)

I've spore printed all of my finds and at this point I have 5-10 notebook pages filled with prints. None of these were taken in particularly sterile conditions.  I'd prefer to put them to fruitful use, rather than just leave them sitting on my desk or throwing them away.

Any ideas?

If you don't want to grow them, try trading them on the Marketplace (need 50 posts). I'm sure a lot of people would love some of those cyanescens prints to grow out on agar. I'm growing some right now on agar.

The technique that Mr. Piggy linked to describes pressure cooking the agar (to sterilize), and then inoculation in a Still Air Box.  Should I be prepared to grow something I'm not expecting if I then inoculate with my (in all likelihood) contaminated spores?

Maybe. I've handled some wild Ps. cyanescens spores and I've not gotten any contamination. Straight from spores:

The whole point of working with agar is so you can isolate clean sectors of mycelium and move them to a new plate.  You will get contamination, that is a part of it.

This is my first year doing cult (minus that whole pf tek thing) after hunting, got inspired by liloldme.
