I will have to try that. I probably only soaked mine for 12-14 hours. Over night basically.

its detailed in spitballs basics series.
rinse wbs like normal. skim off shit like normal. add optional gypsum to water. cover with hot tap. soak 24hrs.
i do large bacthes. i cant imagine simmering 40-80lbs of grain in 1 day. i got bitches to slap and hoes to pimp. no time to simmer.

Lmao! Awesome. Damn thats alot of grain. I did 20lbs this last go round. About 30 some quart jars. And they're colonizing right now. I didn't like the simmering part anyways I stirred it the whole time basically lol. Out of fear of the seeds bursting or burning on the bottom.
The ones I have colonizing now are kinda going slow. I think I may have gotten the moisture content a bit on the dry side. Haven't quite figured out that perfect moisture content yet. The first batch I did were a bit more on the wet side and grew really fast.

Thats a crazy pinset dude any tips for a newbie I'm just about to start my first ever mono tub tonight. I have 4 jars of colonized wild bird seed ready to go but I'm apprehensive that I will do something wrong and ruin it

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone
Here is a picture of it tonight

I feel like a newbie myself lol. This is my first mono tub. But I did use 6 jars of wbs. This is a 60+ quart tub. I just followed the coir tek. Mixed in the WBS and put a casing layer on top of that. If you only have 4 jars ready to go. I'm sure that will work. Just gotta decide on what ratio your gonna go with and figure out how much substrate to add.

Thats a very nice pinset btw i found that trash bags didnt work that well for me as liners. So i started using the rolls of painters plastic. I cut it so it goes all the way up the walls, pour in my substrate, level it out, then cut it above the substrate. The liner is suppose to stick to the mycelium as it grows to prevent a microclimate between the substrate and wall where side pins form. It works very well for me, i never get side pins.

Awesome. I'll take that into consideration. Hope to have multiple tubs soon. I'll have to try that out.

Another pic after harvest. These are my biggest fruit I have grown to date. The one on far right is a monster. I will be taking some clones of these beauties. I didn't harvest the whole tray. There were some smaller clusters that still had some growing to do.

Wow man that is some impressive shit, good for you! I will most definitely be doing WBS after all of my cakes are toast. You may have even just convinced me to also give agar a go. You get 5 mushies my friend!

Go for it! It's definitely worth it. I was hesitant about wbs and agar myself. But it not that hard really after reading up on how to do it. I even poured my own plates. Glad I could inspire someone to to take the same dive I did.

Thanks fpr the tips man. I plucked up the balls and did it this morning. I used half a brick of coir with my spawn and it looked about 60% coir 40% spawn, so i hope that will make it colonize before the contams have a chance to get ir w

Getting closer.

Also. This is a new one for me. I've never seen this happen before. A shroom growing from a shroom. This is on a BRF cake and is Thai Lipa Yai.
