I'm looking into this, having gotten it recommended from an offline friend: http://www.etoro.com/
Basically you have a network of over 5 million traders who trade and share their portfolios freely. You can hitch a ride with single or groups of them, copy down effective strategies and the like automatically so that in effect you have thousands of traders working for you, for free, and you have the ability to track down the most gifted traders from a pool of 5 million.
I'm not recommending this but, still looking into this.
I'm a believer in hive intelligence so this is fascinating.
Let's discuss this, its interesting. Its an investment tool like no other, for the private investor.

You'd still have to know a lot about the stock market and companies and finances in order to know if you're trusting the right person or not. Also there are different levels of involvement in the stock market. What works for someone with $10 million at their disposal isn't the same as what works for someone with a couple thousand. The money that can be made from stocks over the long term is actually relatively small (although still quite good if you have a lot of money) compared to the amount that you can make day trading.
Day trading is some hardcore serious stuff though, you really have to know your shit otherwise you could easily lose everything, but the upside is if you know your shit you can make it a full time job by yourself and still pull in 5-6 figures. Of course, you have to have capital to invest first, or at least enough credit to get a large enough loan to invest which carries its own risks and consequences.
If you're looking to make in the range of 5-25% per year on an investment in a diversified portfolio, then that's not unreasonable. On the other hand, you could easily lose everything you invest or halve your investment if you pick companies poorly. The problem is that even 5--25% per year isn't a particularly large return over time unless the initial investment is particularly large.
Still, sites like this have possibilities, but you still need to know your stuff, or be prepared to gamble.
