soft cake after birth
    #23946010 - 12/21/16 12:36 PM (7 years, 1 month ago)

What's it mean if you birth a cake and it's kinda soft. Soft enough to sink in a tiny bit and leave a finger print in the cake?

Long time lurker. Love you guys.

Could only make guesses without photo.

Need photo.

:sun:

Are the other cakes not as soft?

No camera. Phones camera broke.

I doubt a pic would do anything. It looks just like white mycelium. But it's soft af.

Almost reminds me of Mac and cheese from the school lunch line. That film layer of cheese you can indent with your finger. Looked fucked, but was actually alright

No front camera. And only 1 out of 4 cakes was ready for birth.

I just opened the container it's in. It smells sour for a couple seconds and then smells like normal mycelium and I can't smell the sour......help

And all 4 in the trash. Jets are down three points. No spores. No prints. No nothing. Someone send me a print....

Why did you do that?

That sour smell means contaminated so I tossed em. If that one jar is contamed then the other three are as well.

First of all, you could have gotten fruits even if it was bacterial.

Second, One jar does not effect the others.

:whathesaid:
so you birthed one early how early? why? Was it pinning if so its because of contams usually forcing it into survival mode so full cake may not have been finished
also I find first wiff of a few of my cakes didnt smell right but once birthed it was nice and shroomy
