Scientology and the Aftermath
    #23945594 - 12/21/16 09:47 AM (7 years, 2 months ago)

Has anyone seen any of this?  I already knew about a some of it because i have a buddy who's dad is a scientologist, and the church hounded his mom for years after they got divorced.

How do you guys feel about scientology?

Comes across as a cult.

Not much different than any other back woods religion.

Scientology is a cult, like most other religions. It scams vulnerable for their money and prey on people in search of spirituality. For god sakes, it was created by a fiction writer. Joseph Smith talking to god inside his hat is more believable than Scientology.

this link isnt working for me. Others feel free to chime in. It could just be my laptop

OP; I have a buddy who joined the church. I still to this day can't muster up the strength to talk to him or even respect him as a mentally healty individual

the truth is, christianity is about as insane as scientology. Its just socially acceptable and as such people are born into it. Scientology is a lot more stupid and south park has openly debunked it. Tons of leaked documents online too. Honestly I am mind blown that anyone is that dumb

I was referring more to the church policies like "fair game" and "disconnection" than to whether or not the premise of the religion is believable.

haha why tho? The fucked part is that most people who are part of cults are sadly intelligent people. But I feel that thats something I just wouldn't be able to overlook personally

She's not very pious, I probably wouldn't be able to date somebody who was really serious about it.

scientology is a dangerous cult that has likely killed people. it started as a bar wager between hubbard and someone else to see who could get the most followers to a made up religion. hubbard obviously won. it is not a religion, it's a scheme to swindle people out of money, and that's the truth.

It's a religion by legal definition. It's tax exempt just like all other major religions.

I read the title as sodomy and the aftermath. Someone explain to me the difference between sodomy and Scientology?? Or religion in general??
