Weather got to this plant...

Would you make it into soup or save (part of) it? The white spots are soft..

Smother it with goldenseal? Maybe a local farmers markets pure unifltered honey? I do not know but i'd imagine with some sort of barrier and assistance the cactus can recover. (The open wound)
If aloe vera gel can heal us, can it heal cacti too?

There is nothing too worrying. Just make sure it gets no humidity till it's healed.

Yeah. It should be able to heal. Try to keep it dry.

Once it dries out good, try to keep it a bit more moist. Trichos can handle a good amount of water. When they get really shriveled up and then get lots of water, they can split. I water mine everyday during the summer to keep them moist.

i dug it up, it's in the warmth now..next to heating, with a lamp shining on it...keep praying for it, it might make it
tbh, i need a microscope for this...find out excactly what evil motherfuckers are infecting this plant and get the right poison to destroy them

I'd cut the top off as it looks like it is the only part that might live. Not saying give up on the bottom part but it looks pretty bad.

Why do you assume something is attacking it? Looks to me like it got more water than it could handle and split, I would have just covered it up tried to keep it dry But you should try again in spring, make sure it's nice and established before putting in the ground

I'm from the netherlands we don't have word for this thing you call 'dry' The split is my least concern tbh, but there is some rot or fungus going on (soft spots)
The tipi used to shelter it from rain probably was a bad idea without proper ventilation.
possibly the fungus/rot entered trough the gash, or snail damage on top. have sprayed it with 3% h2o2 also a month ago tryinbg to combat rust spots, not sure if this has anything to do with the situation

Cut off the top. The bottom is probably a goner. If you do take my advice. Cut above where you think the rot ends then inspect the fresh cut tip. If you see signs of rot/funk clean your knife and take a thin slice off. Do that exact procedure(clean knife and thin cut) until no rot is observed. Keep it in the driest place you have with alot of ventilation. Best of luck mate. Anyone's thats grown cacti for years has rot set in to a cacti. Live and learn

Goldenseal is antibiotic. It's an herb dust you cover wounds. So is honey but that may attract critters .
Usnea Longissmaa may grow in your region since you said Netherlands. Vikings would use that as a compress after their limbs were hacked off.
It stays in a constant state of sterility anti fungal anti viral and anti biotic.
I don't see why it wouldn't help with healing your cactus.
Bandage it up with that moss. Put goldenseal on its open wound. Wrap in that magic moss.
Usnea Longissma is endangered so do not pick it off a tree. Harvest ones that have fallen on the ground.

Reading some research on the usnea it seems pretty neat stuff
The rot/fungus however seems most prevalent near the top and it is under the skin (soft to the touch white/yellowish spots) Doesnt seem to go very deep.
I doubt things from the outside will affect it much. Maybe the plant will be able to fight back though now that it is waking up from dormancy cause of the warmth.

Oh wow you're trying to grow in the ground in Netherlands? That's really interesting dude, I know a couple growing trichs there, they all have greenhouses to protect from the rain
