I've grown quite fond to mostly just listening to instrumental's every since I got down with psychedelics. Post random instrumental's, they can have hooks or whatever. Feel free to rate as well.

Do you like prog / metal stuff? This is definitely one of their softer songs, but I think it's a good introductory track for getting into their music

Never heard of prog, I like basically anything that sounds good to me. I mostly listen to electronic. I even like some classical, all the way to horrorcore satanic rap. The only music I really don't like is country. I think I've heard two country songs my entire life I could actually listen to.

Funky instrumentals or just anything instrumental?
I have a huge collection of random stuff including a ton of crazy instrumental albums, I will try and dig some up for you.
Here is a groovy psychedelic rock album, I have heard it compared to Ozric Tentacles a lot:
Bland Bladen - I Grévens Tid [Sweden 2003] [Full Album]-Psychedelic Space Rock
Here is some groovy German jazz fusion that gets pretty funky:
Passport - Hand Made Full Album
Mike Oldfield 'Tubular Bells' Live at the BBC 1973 (high quality / remastered)
^Beautiful instrumental tune, check out Tubular Bells part 2 live as well as it is also very epic and the concert is at a castle
-------------------- Don't worry about me, I've got all that I need. And I'm singing my song to the sky You know how it feels, With the breeze of the sun in your eyes. Not minding that time's passing by I've got all and more, My smile, just as before. Is all that I carry with me I talk to myself, I need nobody else. I'm lost and I'm mine, yes I'm free

Here is some funky jazz fusion:
Casiopea 1979 Full Album
And here is some more groovy funk:
Del Richardson: Pieces Of A Jigsaw
Jiro Inagaki & Soul Media - Painted Paradise - 1974 [Jazz-Funk]
Those are some more groovy instrumental albums that come to mind

Speaking of Buckethead anyone else been listening to his most recent pikes? He put out a few really great ones fairly recently:
Here are a few of my favorites:
Buckethead - Oneiric Pool (Buckethead Pikes #235)
This album is pretty heavy but super melodic and really well done over all
Buckethead - Sparks in the Dark (Buckethead Pikes #241)

Wow man, Oneiric Pool just took me on a voyage. Thanks for sharing that one...
I wonder, do you think he ever plays his pikes live? I saw him play recently and I'm pretty sure most everything was off of his albums.

i love prog metal, moreso if it has no vocals. you should check out Trioscapes if you like instrumental metal or jazz or both... you should also check out Scale The Summit if you haven't heard of em before.

Oh man, one of the best nights of my life. I went with my brother and a good friend of ours, and I can say hands down BH is one of the best performers I have ever seen. Musically, he was super tight and had perfect mix levels, and his stage presence was overwhelming, creepy and positive.

Scale the Summit is great I really enjoy their song 'The Great Plains'.
I read a trip report which described an experience on a few hits of acid, two blotters and two liquid drops, where someone and their friend were peaking, listening to music in their truck in the middle of the night, when that song came on the speakers through shuffle.
They shared a simultaneous hallucination of the truck lifting off of the ground and flying over mountains and fields and valleys in a bright, sunny world during the 'tapping' section which starts at 3:36 and it's one of my favorite moments from this new generation of instrumental guitar musicians.

Here is a beautiful live acoustic guitar solo:
Uli Jon Roth Incredible Acoustic Guitar Solo - Live 2015
It starts out pretty mellow and slowly works up into some really epic stuff not to mention Uli is playing a super nice 7 string acoustic
Sounds so good, I bet the guitar alone is at least 500$ to a few grand and who knows what else he is playing through, probably a decent bit of gear.
