Oil Jobs in Texas...

... are on their way. https://www.usgs.gov/news/usgs-estimates-20-billion-barrels-oil-texas-wolfcamp-shale-formation and in the real news http://www.breitbart.com/texas/2016/11/15/big-oil-feds-call-west-texas-deposit-largest-history/
Anybody more familiar with this? I just found out about this month old news this morning.
Some mother-frackers are about to get richer. That's one big puddle of gas and oil just sittin' there.

Massive Texas oil find fuels Alberta's call for Canadian pipeline Once Alberta's biggest customer, the U.S. has now become the province's biggest competitor, minister says...

Looks like we dont need no stinkin' oil from any more.
Thoughts?

"Whether or not it is profitable to produce these resources has not been evaluated"
It's worthless until somebody assesses at what price point it can be extracted and what the energy return on investment is. Though my guess is if it was 10/barrel oil they would have already been extracting it.

People say the fossil fuel industry is "anti-science" but what they fail to grasp is science gave us fracking and horizontal drilling, among many other technologies to refine their industry. It's ALL based on science

For some odd reason... I don't think that's the notion provided by those whom make that claim.

There is more job security in cleaning up the environment from drlling than in drilling. My grandpa had over 30 drilling trucks. Dad was a driller too. Make good money when biz is good, then comes the glut.

I assume you're talking about water wells, as oil drilling rigs aren't truck mounted

Boy your dumb. Back in the day when wells were shallow they used cable drills for oil. You obviously know nothing about mid 1900's drilling. They didn't have the rigs they have today for deeper wells. You can try again loser
My grandpa was born in 1905. So tell me just what sort of drills people had that were mobile in the early to mid 1900's?
Think you know something but ya don't.
My grandma marched for woman's rights and in favor of prohinition. She was born in 1907.
I come from an old dad that was born of old parents. My dad was born in 1940.
I am 35.

there are truck mounted oil drilling rigs, plenty of them today for exploratory drilling, far less common back in the 30s and 40s because we didnt have trucks or any machinery build on those scales back then, they started becoming more common in the 50s with tandem axle trucks but the scale of everything was small and had to be built up to go beyond a few hundred feet

I never see the point about getting hyped about this stuff they always raise the rent in the area anyway

Speaking of oil, Obama Bans New Drilling in Atlantic From New England to Chesapeake Bay. https://sputniknews.com/us/201612211048811672-obama-bans-oil-drilling/ or http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/12/20/obama-expected-to-bar-drilling-in-swaths-atlantic-arctic.html

Atlantic, Arctic oceans Published December 20, 2016 FoxNews.com
President Obama on Tuesday ordered U.S.-owned waters in the Arctic Ocean and certain areas in the Atlantic Ocean placed "indefinitely" off-limits for future oil and gas leases, in a final fossil-fuel crackdown before he leaves office.
The move, intended to protect the area’s ecosystem, is a final push by Obama to seal his environmental legacy, and a possible way to bind the hands of his successor.

really? would those be jobs like Doctor, Lawyer, Brigadier General and Congressman
mayeb you should tell us just what those 6 figure jobs are, there seem to be plendy of college grads that thought they could make six figures at McDonald's

because unless they raise the rent to $100,000 per year, it's not hard to clear $100,000 per year when rent reaches $2000 per month if you're earning $160k/yr
but hey, you can sour grape it all you want, others are more than happy to work a few years and be set to pay cash for a new vehicle and a house, work 10 and retire early with a great investment portfolio.

Oh I see, you're talking about the losers of the oil fields, drilling shallow wells
The rigs used for drilling shallow wells are essentially water well rigs
Well have fun with that

And people are dumb enough to believe he has that power, Trump can undo pretty much everything this turd has implemented by executive order. The fact this ban is in partnership with Canada presents another side of the story. Trudeau is fucking the Canadians as well, he won't be relected and most likely someone to the right of him will
