way back in the day i used to grow in unmodified tubs with the lids cracked. i needed to mist
more but it worked.

as cool as the moisture lock thing is, I would avoid anything with that.
i want my tubs to breath as much as possible.

well with those tubs ill be getting em dialed in and be using a fan like frank does it, i understand what ur saying but in my experience ive lost more moisture through not just the holes in the hybrid tubs but through the lid as well, they are cheap tubs and dont really lock at all.

i should also mention that i plan on doing more than a few mini monos, i got all my ducks in a row with my plans. its easier in their then it is to say or write, like i tried explaining it to my fiance but its tough specailly when she has no idea what the hell im even saying.

ill be putting up a 48x48x84 tent that ill be doing my fruiting in and another smaller tent for my jars ect.

that being said i hear wat ur saying but im going to give it a shot anyways, ill cut the holes right n stuff the poly and adjust as needed.

ive done a lot of reading the last couple days and i have exp. its just a matter of doing it again with wat i have learned and adjust. im going for more of a set n forget approach or tend to them as needed, and with not having to really mess with the lid thus creating a more likely chance of contamination, so less contamination would mean cleaner prints ect.

Does it matter if the lining is taped to the sides or not?

I taped my Mono and Mini (i actually glued it, yeah just laugh i know it totally defeats the purpose of easy maintenance)
It seems like it wouldn't make that much of a difference, since the water evaporates from everywhere and collects onto anything

But it always worries me when i see standing water on the substrate.

i mean from what im getting out of it,u dont want the liner to touch the sub or hang over it.... the link that i posted is for the air tight containers, and in that tek u could mix ur sub and spawn in a trash bag and dont have to cut it down untill u fruit

i never have a hard time with the liners ive done it enough times a few different ways and made it work for me, i always cut it down after i mix it up, i guess its the O.C.D in me but i wouldn't want it touching my sub or gathering unnecessary water but thats just me and im no TC.

kinda why i never bothered changing my tubs up it worked so why fix it, well now im wanting to dial my tubs in and have the best pinset yet so thats why im changing it up. this way will produce shrooms, just i want more lol

ok so heres the first flush on the first GT tub, it came to 20 grams dry
not bad for only 1.5 quarts of spawn that had been sitting for 6 months that i didnt really think was clean to begin with but hell ya!!

i didnt take any pics of the second tub because it was lacking and only produced 7 grams dry.

i did transfer some of the PE and TOC that looked really really good so we shall see how this next pasty plate looks, i also cloned one of the GT fruits just cause i didnt have any GT left we shall see how that comes out.

i initially took 3 of each the PE and the TOC and only transferred from the best looking dish to new plates, the other 2 i plan on tiger dropping tonight into 1 quart of WBS each.

stay tuned cause i got a lot going on atm and im really excited to hear some feed back:)

those grains look way to wet :frown: and a lot burst open :frown: :frown:

with wbs I THINK its best to do 24hr soak no simmer. cut they wedge into pieces with a clean blade. they will colonize quicker.

I would go ahead and shake it too, just be careful or the agar puck will get stuck to the glass
