Canned food expiration
    #23941801 - 12/19/16 09:37 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

I have a gallon mason jar of whole preserved peaches, its about 15yrs old.

Apparently canned food can last nearly a century and maybe more before deterioating / becoming inedible.

Would you test the peaches?
Test the peaches?

I think it's worth risking the botulism, personally. When else are you going to be able to eat some peaches from the year 2001? You'll never get another chance to eat 2001 peaches. Those are peaches from the year 9/11 happened. I think a real patriot would eat them.

Don't cans contaminated with botulism swell from air pressure? A bulging can or misshapen can is a sign of botulism.

Supposedly there was a batch of heroin circulating around here a few years back that was actually contaminated with wound botulism.
