Grain prep - whole oats jars keep getting a greenish mold

I've been doing a 12 hour soak, dry, and PC 2 hrs. I keep getting a green mold, some of the jars are even 90% colonized before it shows.
Is this because my grains are too wet? I swapped to 45 min soak, drain, and PC. Is this better? Or what's going on?!

I do inocuoles method with oats.
Its probably your sterile procedure from the sounds of it. Do you want to walk us through your process?
Are you using LC, spores, agar, g2g?

Is the mold starting at the top of the jar? Is it starting from where you inoculated? Sounds like it could be a filter problem, can we see a pic of your jars?
And answer this too:

It's happened with g2g, LI, tiger drop... I recently thought the same, as I was using easy felt, but a few jars with the new SFDs have done it as well.
I was using a shmuvbox, now I'm in a sab. Alcohol, gloves, bleach/alcohol/soap water.
I just got a ton of new syringes from a sponsor - 8 cubes 2 exotics for 42 bucks - I shot some Ecuador, malabar, and AA+ spores into agar today. After those take, I transfer a chunk and plop the rest into a 1/2 pint grain jar? Or make some brf cakes and slurry them into grain?

Pictures of the jars would go a long way. I'd say if you think the grains are too wet, then they probably are.

Thought I answered that. The contams start in the middle. A lot of times after a shake. My jars are standard widemouth quarts with a rtv SHIP and a quartet sized piece of SFD siliconed over a 1/2 inch hole.
Can grains being too wet cause this, is kinda what I'm asking.

After a shake doesn't say much, lets say it got in through the filter, sat on the top for 4 days. It then germinates, but it's not noticeable, you shake it, it recovers then green!
The same goes for a dirty culture, or inoculation method.

Ok guys, I am using synthetic filter discs, I don't think shits getting in via the filter.
I guess I need to work on getting a clean culture.

sounds like your inoculate is dirty.
or
does the green mold grow in the myc or on the uncolonized oats?
do a single jar of oats. pc it and just let it sit out.
ive got a jar of wbs that has sat out for going on 5 months. grains are good. i know my issues come from my inoculate

The green comes from uncolonized grain I believe. I'm using manna pro whole oats. Going to use wbs for awhile.. $1.59 for 5 pounds at the grocery store next door.
Another question. Sometimes I notice a green or blue tinge starting on my agar plates. It's either on the chunk I initially transfered, or in older growth. What is this?
I'm starting a bunch of spores to agar, what's the best way to go about it? Transfer the plate to a quart jar and use it to make more jars, then fruit em? Or make it into a LI and just do jars that way? Do I need to transfer away from the spore plate before I noc up grains?

I think this is your problem. If you have been doing it like this then your inoculant is most likely not clean.
You need to do at least 2 transfers away from the original germination plate before you put any agar to grains. If you transferred then put the original germination plate to grains, you are most likely putting lots of contams in the mix too because syringes are rarely clean.
