I'm not really sure what's happening with this tub. I smelled all the jars and there was no sour or sweet smells before spawning. There's no visible signs of contams in the tub so i'm thinking it's because i used 4 quarts of water in my recipe. 5 quarts seemed to make my shrooms short from too much water but 4 quarts seems to dry to get the 1st pin set. In my next tub i'll use 4.5 quarts and see if that's the sweet spot. My tub is still producing heat and the mycelium hasn't changed color or matted, maybe its a slow pinner but i'll give it another week or so. It's been fruited about 10 days ago and no primordia formation yet.

The surface there looks pretty darn dry. I would hit that with a mist.

My tub was really dry like you said pasty, it absorbed that heavy misting last night like it was nothing. i noticed last night too that there are little tiny pins in random spots along the walls of the substrate. They're not growing between the wall and sub, just right at the edge. Maybe this is the beginning of the 1st flush. i misted again just now. Hopefully this tub will give me something

Might recover nicely. Just keep yer eye on it and let it do. Give it what it needs I always say. If it's dry mist it. If it's pooling water, up thr FAE. If it doesn't need anything, leave it alone. I check my mushrooms once a day usually.

I usually check them once a day too. My tubs usually gets to the 1st flush without having to mist but i guess i used too little water this go round. Will update soon

This tub isn't going to flush that great. The pins are only really developing by the walls of the tub from the lack of water in the substrate. I've been tweaking my recipe on the water ratio. I've misted and that helped some but i started injecting water into the substrate and that's helping a good amount but still a shitty tub. Check out my escondido grow thread. I'm trying to perfect my monotubs so i don't need to touch them before the 1st flush. I'm not posting a picture of this tub because it's pathetic

Well this tub did way better than i expected. I guess misting it everyday and injecting plenty of water helped the pinset form. Heres some pics of the 1stf fush
 ENJOY

Thanks but this was a shitty grow. The mushrooms only developed around the edges because the substrate was dry. they look really good but not a canopy like i wanted. On to the next 1 though, ill be using more water in the substrate too. It's right here Escondido Cubensis Grow check it out

The overall yield was 15.6 grams dry..... I gotta do some bad tubs to learn from my mistakes tho, on to the next. I'm going to get this 2000 gram flush soon. Just gotta tweak my recipe a little bit.

I debated wether or not to keep this tub but it didnt contam so i decided to try and revive it. 2 days before the 1st harvest i added 2 cups of water between the liner and sub. Then i injected a few dixie cups worth of water straight into the sub. After harvesting every mushy, i added 2 more cups of water since the previous got absorbed so quickly. I then heavily misted the surface and its been sitting for 2 to 3 days at this point. I see pins and pin clusters forming all over. Hopefully the yield will be a little better than the 1st.

Thanks man, not many people know about him but im obsessed with his books and just hearing him speak. So much knowledge and interesting concepts.
I've read all his books, gf actually got me Archaic Revival for Christmas, someone once said this about McKenna: "A cyclone of unorthodox ideas capable of lifting almost any brain out of its cognitive Kansas."
I really like Archaic Revival. I'm re reading True Hallucinations right now actually, I enjoy this book. Havent read Invisible Landscape yet

I keep meaning to read True Hallucinations. My favorite book by him is Food of the Gods. It talks about the stoned ape theory

I didnt wanna go through the hassle of soaking the entire tub. Thats why i only used a few cups of water. I know the sub can absorb all that

Really just a heavy misting is all that should be needed unless the sub is really dry or you had a major flush
