Pinning in jars?
    #23940148 - 12/19/16 11:37 AM (7 years, 1 month ago)

Hello all, I'm wondering what's going on with my 5 PF jars. So far there has been no sign of contamination and they were all growing quickly. After a while they started pinning in the jars and colonization slowed down. 2 appear fully colonized and the other 3 really slowed down. It's taking forever now.
What's going on here? Should I dunk/roll and get them to the fruiting chamber? Or wait when/if they fully colonize?
Sorry for a somewhat beginner question, I'm getting back into mycology after 5 years.

If they stopped colonizing and started pinning early that can be a sign of bacterial contamination.
Sometimes they just pin early for no real reason, though.

How were these prepared? Steam sterilized or pressure cooked?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Pressure cooked, 15psi for around 70 minutes.
