I started trying something similar. Sterilised grain and substrate in bags inoculated with LI and flattened out in monos to colonise. Once colonised just cut off the top and you have a bulk sub with a built in liner.

Funny part is that I had already grown this, decided the yield was less than average & moved onto to a sub-culture that had popped up in the previous tub.  The leftover agar dishes started pinning, so I threw them on grain & did a pity run just to use up the inoculant.

Oh that's too cool! Notice the condensation cycle with the temperature fluctuations! Awesome!

Yeah keeping the setup stable is difficult, that's why mine isn't finished yet. It gradually got blurry for no known reason (perhaps temps too? it's been unusually cold in my region this week) so I attempted as close of a reset as possible and just went with whatever stuttering it's gonna have. Perhaps if one were super serious about this, a box or cage of some sort could be constructed to protect movement. Something like those doll display boxes... or even simpler, just another sterilite tote set over it like a dome.

Oh also a quick tip, tape or clip the camera cord to the table to reduce cord weight jostlings

Various projects on the go...Playing...but also sticking to a Tek (Mini Mono tub/coir verm).
Pasteurized Spelt hulls...3 weeks since spawning.
Cased some to see...primordia forming..

GT late casing, early fruiting conditions on really moldy/bacterial hulls that I pasteurized...So far so good. Pinning and fruiting.
