Best fixed-blade knives

I want to get myself a fixed-blade knife for relatively cheap. I have a sorta cheap pocket-knife but no other blades. If you think a machete or a pocket saw or something first, just let me know that first
But otherwise, whats the best fixed-blade for under $80? I want to be able to smack a log against it like a hammer as a wedge, break open partially-split logs, and hack down thicker bush and not worry too much about breakage or wear and tear.
I'm not trying to stab terrorists or break padlocks, I just want a good all-around knife

Sounds like you need a Gerber Gator.
Good cheap indestructible knife with a nice thick blade, good for chopping/prying.

I'm starting to not like the folding knives as much myself. The locks on alot of them... I don't trust. I just recently bought myself a Gerber fixed bladed knife. Haven't fiddled with it yet tho.

here's something pretty cheap, it's a second, cosmetic blemishes but for $11 you wont find a better deal on a quality knife that you wont give 2 shits about losing

I paid $90 for my Mora Garberg, it's a fuckin badass knife

It's also awesome cuz if you have a Swedish Firesteel you can use it to throw massive showers of sparks
As far as cheaper knives go u can't go wrong with Mora, they make super high quality steel for the price
This is my $16 knife and it's solid as fuq

A bit over your budget but a wonderful knife:
The Fallkniven F1

Thick laminated VG-10 steel, Zytec grip with great gnarling and lanyard hole. Full tang construction, convex blade that splits wood without dulling the edge, its the Swedish Air Force pilot survival knife that entered service in 1995 so its a fairly modern milspec blade that is used to this day.
Review of someone who used it intensively for 9 months:

Had a small blade that looked more or less like this.. I have no idea what happened to it.

These two are the perfect size.

I need a blade smaller than six inches. Been shopping around for a while now and all the blades I see are either way too small or too big. The first one I had was amazing. Cut through anything and I got it for a cheap price too.

I don't trust anything thats 'cheap and indestructable' except for maybe the mora bushcraft black. But anything with a thick full tang, carbon or stainless, should be great.

I second cold steel. I have 2 blades from them, kukri and katana. The kukri is my favorite. Sturdy as fuck and came in box surprisingly shark. Could use a different handle, but for 18 bucks... Dude. I have taken her on several outing's. Heavy blade if your built like a child, but that thing will lop branches limbs or heads off with ease. I'm surprisingly impressed with cold steel.
I know they have a few knock off kabars.
