Ranting In the Wilderness
    #23938934 - 12/18/16 06:50 PM (7 years, 2 months ago)

Dont talk politics is an unwritten rule here (world/). And I usually just leave it at that, and chuck any political posts in the war zone to be shit upon, because I feel any specific political party is shit, and the "war zone" is the toilet. People blame Obama for the weather as easily as they forget what George Bush handed him. People really think electing Trump or HIllary is going to fix this country? or for that matter re-electing Obama (like they did earlier) will either? Putting a good candidate or even a bad one into office is like sticking a new wiper blade on a car with a broken engine. Our government has become a joke and election time is a distraction for the stupid. We continue to inject politicians into a one sided game, like requesting the dice or deck be changed at the casino. or for you slot players, requesting a new handle even though you are playing with the buttons.

Before I continue, I was a card carrying fiscal republican with social views so far left that libertarians would blush.
Now I was going to call myself a independent, but it's still playing the stupid game of voting in another politician and then sitting on my hands for the next 2 or 4 years with no voice as the government overspends and their buddies become richer. Corporations run our government, while Lobbyists pull the theoretical puppet strings of our politicians.

Where was I going with this? Oil prices. well after 8 years the government is finally taking on the oil traders, i've been barking about this for the last 4 years. I know this is extreme, and some would even say socialist.

But what if the US government started drilling, pumping, refining, and distributing oil/gas in the US in direct competition with Exxon/Mobil, BP , and everyone else? no "govt" fuel would be allowed to be exported , and it would be a non-profit like the post office? Employment would go up, Gas prices would go down, shipping costs would go down, price of food and goods would go down, and everyone in the US would have an extra $50 to $100 a week extra in their pockets again because gas would be back at $1.50 a gallon in a few years....

It will never happen because lobbyists for the oil companies will be up senate and congresses asses faster than I can hit send on this post.

which brings me to the next "Idea' .. Outlaw lobbyists, corporate intervention in government, make all political officials have to financially disclose every bank statement of anything, anyone they are related to by blood or relationship.

anyhow, we live in a great country despite our "lousy bureaucratic government".. We just get so distracted thinking these are political party issues that can be cured by voting 'out the bad" or 'voting in the good' ..
these people are all politicians that are playing a game of money, power, and influence and we are the pawns that keep getting distracted by shiny objects called elections.

in this electronic age of Internet and social media.. WE THE PEOPLE should be voting in a true democratic fashion as a whole, and deciding issues based on majority rules, rather than the lobbyist with the deepest pockets deciding our fate. 200 years ago a senator or congressman was able to hear the voice of the people, now there are far too many of us with different opinions and values to be heard and represented by so few.

This isnt a "political" statement that my party is better than yours.. I dont have a party or political affiliation anymore. I feel my vote is useless, because no matter who wins, we all lose. And the craziest part, restructuring government will never happen because Corporations through lobbyists will never allow it. Free country? How sad is that?

*hypnotizes* On that note American Gladiators is playing on channel 4 in one hour....:mib:

That actually sounds reasonable to me.

The track record for government run oil production is very poor, why not just tax the energy companies with a royalty charge on the sale into the market?

There is an ever growing awareness of this widespread rigging and corruption and it's not going anywhere soon so long as the MSM continue to feed unbelievable lies that are decreasingly matching the viewers realities.

i rest my case.

PS: there are no SJWs here...the closest thing we have to an SJW here is you, constantly referring to and gloating about how little you know. very SJW-lite, i'd say.
