Sterilizing agar and grains together

I've tried with no avail to find a thread with this simple question.
Can you sterilize grain jars and an agar bottle at 15 psi for 90 mins without consequences?
I'm afraid it could do damage to the agar like caramelizing or something. Not too worried about the grains because that is their sterilization time. I would be using a media bottle for the agar with a small hole drilled in the lid then sealed with tyvek.

90 min is too long for agar IMO. I would not exceed 30 minutes. 90 minutes could cause damage by the Maillard reaction.

That's what I figured. I was hoping someone would say, "I do it all the time it just makes the agar dark."

If youre using a media bottle there is no need to modify the lid. Put it on loosly instead. 90 min ia too long for agar

IIRC, you can PC grainwater agar for 90 minutes without the negative effects. But I fully attest that I have not tried it, just seem to recall it being discussed, so take it with a grain of salt and do some research.

How do you know if the agar is damaged by the Maillard reaction?

What is the exact damage? If it's just darker who cares but if it's a break down of the sugars that locks out nutrients to the mycelium then we have a real problem.

That should work. But be careful with PDA/MEA/DFA.

You can not always see it. With LC you get an amber colored solution. But anyway.. that's just an indicator and no proof. I have seen people around here PCd their LC for 60 minutes and still had growth. I don't like it.

It breaks down sugars. You can give it a try and keep this thread updated to see the results. Be prepared for weak/slower growth.
