Need some tips on my SGFC Brf Cakes

So I put my BRF cakes in the SGFC yesterday. Everything is good so far no contams knocm on wood. The one thing im concerned about is fanning and misting. I misted the walls once today and sprayed some mist over top of the cakes not directly at them around 3x today followed by fanning 30 seconds each time. I read a lot of different answers on whats proper but i would hate to lose my cakes just because i couldnt get a basic idea of whats best. Just wanna know whats a good sign they have enough water and that their not too wet or dry. Ill post pics to let yall judge everything, any tips i will appreciate greatly thanx

So you want them to glisten with water but not be soaked, and it's very important that they are able to dry(via evaporation) before another misting. Failing to allow them adequate time to dry can have some pretty nasty consequences, so be careful about over misting.
So in essence, mist them lightly, let them dry completely, repeat.
You can spray the cakes directly, just use common sense.
Your cakes look fantastic from here.

Just start up and keep a good schedule and if you have the proper temp and airflow you'll be fine. They are really tough little lifeforms that will survive when they are in the right environment. Once you notice your cakes getting little adolescent knots and pimples you'll really start to cherish watching them grow lol.

The blue bruising could be a sign of lack of fresh air movement (Fanning).
I would say your about half way there. You may need to up your fruiting chamber's humidity by upping your spraying cycle a little or re-hydrating your perlite aswell.

Also fold your tin foil back a bit, not that much but you want the airflow from the evaporating water in the perlite to flow past the cakes. Be sure not to let the perlite touch the cake though. If it does you might see some accelerated growth in that area but when the moisture in the perlite drys up it will start to suck up mosture from the cake itself.

Oh shit thanx a ton. I will fold the foil back in the morning and is it safe to take the cakes out in order to re hydrate the perlite?

They will be fine as long as you don't drop them lol. Give your fruiting chamber a quick go in the shower or sink. Mix up the perlite with your hands and let it sit till its not dripping wet. Just make sure you have something like a screen or strainer because perlite makes one hell of a mess.

It still looks like bruising to me but I would keep an eye on it to see if its spreading. Only thing I can think that could cause it is that your getting them too wet. Don't directly spray the cakes with your water bottle and make sure what your sraying them with is something that has a really fine mist. You want your cakes to get wet like on a foggy morning, not a rain storm. If that makes sense.
Also bruising is a sign of actives in the mycelium... so its not entirely bad lol

Welcome to the Shroomery
Bruising is usually caused by dryness or handling, those look dry. Mist cakes as needed until covered with fine beads of moisture, repeat when not. Use a flashlight or lamp to better see the fine beads. If you fan a couple swipes of the lid AFTER misting is enough to drop the RH and kickstart evaporation. It helps to upload your pics to the site.

Care to elaborate why and a little more specific like how high for the water? Dont mean to sound dickish just curious, oh and for how long
