Back at it..

Hey guys. It's been awhile since I've been on and awhile since I've attempted another grow. I had a string of contams in my mono tubs and jars that discouraged me at the time. But I have about 20 jars of WBS colonizing that are going smoothly so far. Had to redo 12 jars, I'm guessing it was due from a contam in a syringe, as they were all knocked up with the same one, and the oath of contam was at the inoculation point. Three strain, Thai, Honduras, and a mystery cube syringe. 6 jars have been shaken, the other 14 are on the way.
I've decided to trying using Ez Felt from the Walmart craft section on my monotubs. I used felt on a new batch of jar lids I made, and they are working just fine so far.

Comments, suggestions, advice, it's all welcome.

Just a small update. Strains are Honduras, and Thai. Currently have two baking pans colonizing, and one monotub. Along with a identical monotub that was mixed acouple days after the rest.

It's worked great for me so far. Here is everything as of right now. Both baking trays and mono tub 1 have been in black trash bags lightly closed. Tub 2 had makeshift patches of gorilla tape that wouldn't rip off the felt filters on the monotub. All are coming nicely. Plant is in week 3, just trimmed her up. Was going to FIM but decided not too. New jars started. And more cooling from the PC.
Tub 1. Tray 1. Tray 2. Tub 2.

What are your guys opinions on when to fruit? I know some wait until pinning but some say fully colonized.
I've been very happy with the mycelium growth I've gotten from these last batch of genetics. Wish I could keep them. I have agar but have only failed horribly every time ive messed with it. That was in Petrie dishes. Advice?

Thanks! And I need some Advice on placement while fruiting too. Would the two tubs on a milk crate with the two trays on top be good, or them stacked the same way, just up high on a cabinet. We do use a standing fan occisonally, if that makes a difference.

Yeah. I've always simmered. Haven't had too many grains blowing up on me. But I do know it doesn't help. It's always helped me because my windows of time to work on my stuff often isn't known until last minute and it's quicker. Lol. I did do a 18 soak and quick simmer once and had decent results. Lost 9 jars due to contaminated syringe.

So I haven't got rid of the tray that went bad yet. I just checked it out and it's fully white again. But really fluffy and smrlls like moonshine. I'm assuming it's bad?
Also here are the others.
Top Tray. Middle mono. Bottom mono.

Cover those holes up with layers of micropore tape or stuff tightly with polyfill. If you don't, the surface will dry up really quickly and your pinset will be delayed. Only top holes should be left completely open like that...and only for a couple of hours..
Edit: Nevermind, looks like you're using ez felt. Goodluck. Never used that b4
