Spore germination on agar

any tips for germinating spores from a print on agar?(PDA) make it less/more nutritious? it seems to be taking forever.
after doing a noobly job of scraping a chunk of spores off foil and onto a plate i searched around and realized i should of used a qtip and done the ol' z pattern. i dont think ive read they need to be hydrated in anyway.
im only curious because the same print was made into a syringe and those are growing out now. they were made 3days after i did straight spores to agar.

How long ago was the plate noc'd up? I've read that it can take much longer for spores to germinate from a print. Up to two weeks, maybe three IIRC.

80-90% media water content, 1-5% soluble energy, soluble P, K, Mg, Zn. pH 5-6 at a guess.

It can take a while. Be patient. I've heard that you want your agar to be more watery for spores from a print.

More nutritional to germinate spores. And slightly less stiff

They like a wet mix for prints.

It's perfectly normal for spores from a print to take a week to germinate and 2 or 3 weeks is not unheard of. A softer agar mix definitely helps, but the quality of the agar-agar you use has a lot to do with the ratio required to achieve a soft agar mix, it may vary from 1% to 1,5%. Also, lots of people say that a higher nute ratio really helps with germination.
A chunk of the print to agar is an awful lot man Also, I wouldn't bother with streaking the q-tip in a zig-zag pattern, just rub it softly on the center of the agar surface. Imo streaking in a zig-zag pattern is useful if you use an inoc loop to streak spore solution that's probably bacterial.

i havent worked with a print in ages. i forgot how easily they come off. for some reason i remembered it being a pain.. who knows.
the only reason i did it that way was because i forgot to pc my qtips and i just said fuck it.

Mycelium have to digest, breakdown, energy and nutrients into small chunks, to absorb it through their cell wall. Which is why I said soluble, less breaking down, more absorbing and thus improved speed and growth.
Next is the genetic ability to digest and the requirement to change digestive enzymes. This is why some agar's work differently to others, various factors.
