This judge gets creative with his sentencing. Do you agree with his way of doing justice?
    #23934693 - 12/17/16 07:24 AM (7 years, 2 months ago)

Watch this judge in action. Apparently he does things like that all the time and apparently it's very effective.

Unusal punish,emt? Definitely. Cruel? Nope.

Would you like judges in your country to be like this guy?
What do you think of his sentences?
You may choose only one

I like the comment:

This particular guy seems harmless I guess, but I don't like the idea of judges being elected officials and trying to do their jobs in ways that will "play well" to the public in order to secure re-election.

I went out to dinner one night as a celebration, and we even got a limo.

Well, when we were going in the restaurant I kind of felt bad for the driver...he didn't have a magazine or anything.

He was just going to sit there.

I even brought up my concern during dinner - which just came off as confusing.

So I decided I'd give him some food from the restaurant.

I went out to give it to him but forgot a fork..go back in, grab it.

Well, the owner saw me and thought I was stealing his silverware. I explained what was going on, but he had some type of personal grudge against me.

Got arrested.

Had to stand out front of the restaurant wearing a sign that said "I steal forks."

Seeing as prisons in America are just the worst, and have absolutely no credibility as 'rehabilitating', then yes, I think what he's doing is a good alternative.

I used to hear about that old tale where if a parent catches their kid smoking they'll make them smoke a whole pack. I wonder if this judge would have that in mind if someone came in with a misdemeanor charge of weed :stoned:

idk, some of these seem like a good fit for the petty crimes. like the stolen bike, and the porn and stuff. but come on for animal neglect, an 8 hour work shift at the dump or 90 days in jail? come on 8 hours of work doesn't even touch what that bitch did. make her life at the dump for a week and she has to find all her food there. now thats a better fit.

I think it's because stealing, pepper-spraying unsuspecting people and neglecting your pets are viewed as "actual" offenses.

I guess it comes down to whether you agree with the law or not.

We're all a walking hypocrisy anyway, so fuck it.

This. I don't think most people here consider themselves criminals. As long as you are not causing harm or lost to anyone else I don't see the problem.

I guess you could call it lighter, but you could also call it unusual.

Some of the people could claim the sentence he laid upon them was humilitating, or something of that sort. The constitution doesnt say cruel and unusual punishment is okay if the one being charged chooses it.

But then again i dont see anyone complaining, his sentences are fucking jokes and very preferable to going to jail.

I like the system in Colorado. There, the judges are appointed by the governor, but he can only choose from lists submitted by a judicial nominating commission. Then every two years the people of the state down to the district's can elect to retain or get rid of a judge.

I suppose that's similar, but in the 60s people could elect judges and there was an amendment to make it what it is now instead.
